The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

With my Sony flash it works OK up to around 1/2000th give or take and Elinchrom's can go up to 1/5000th.

It's 100% better than the a9 and a7iii I was using, I've nearly stopped worrying about LED lighting. Great not to be limited to shooting at 1/100th or slower...Never had to use the fine adjustment yet. Flash on the electronic shutter is also OK up to approx 1/5000th (Elinchrom ELB 500.) I'm...

For the early part of my career it never left my camera, must have shot 90% of pictures using one. Since getting a 85 a few years ago, I hardly use it anymore, but still have to take it on jobs, just in case...

Used to use T-max 3200 pushed to 6400 or the real game changer was when Fuji 800 was released in the mid 90's. We shot it at 3200 and pulled the image back in photoshop, without push processing. Or even better, we went home early, if it was too dark. :)

Same here, look at the 2nd image here Nadhim Zahawi there was a small light behind the ministers head, through the EVF it looked like a strobe, pictures came out perfect. I've almost stopped worrying about flicker. Makes it so much easier as I don't have to keep changing shutters. I'm also...

Compared to my a7iii I'm getting approx 85%. Had to change both batteries in the grip around mid afternoon during a job this week. It's on airplane mode and I hardly use the rear screen. Don't mind too much as the anti flicker on electronic shutter works a lot better than the a7iii, no more...

    Future Photoshop Subscription Only!

Adobe had the perfect business model, for us, when you could skip generations when upgrading, as probably the most pirated piece of software in history, the accountants had to do something. I'm sticking with CS6 as long as I can, although like all things computing, I'll be forced to upgrade at...

    Future Photoshop Subscription Only!

Looks like CS6 will be the last version I own, have Adobe just committed commercial suicide? I license all my software and I will decide when to upgrade, sooner they are knocked off the top spot, the better.

Where to purchase a 1DX from

Turnover is well above the VAT threshold and yet not VAT registered? Not illegal, but not ethical, bit like Starbucks/Google/Amazon etc etc?

    Pedal Power Thread

I'm basing it on 25 years of road racing/time trialling and many, many stories of bikes built by Halfords, that break the moment you ride it out of store, or aren't built properly, so no alarmist statement. A £200 bike will have been built for, at a guess £100? You don't need any posh...

For £200 you will be getting the cheapest of everything, I wouldn't risk my life on one of those, especially if it's from Halfords... Look at secondhand or spending at bit more.

    Vivian Maier

Looks interesting, wonder if he owns the copyright as well, could be the bargain of the decade if he does!
