Paul,
Thank you for your apology. I did feel your comments were a little blunt.
As far as what you said, I agree. The last one leans a little ccw but in the original it was leaning cw. Maybe I over did the adjustment.
#3 suffers converging lines but it was even worse before pp so maybe I can be...

Just ordered Lightroom 4 to update from Photoshop 5 ( yes, the 12 year old version! )
Hope I can get a bit more serious about the editing!
Fantastic Thread

Les, thanks for the advice and edit. I'm always concious of going too far with the Sharpening but your version just adds that touch more detail. I did slightly boost the colours already.
Cheers

A candid type photo of my Grandaughter, Emie
I'm pretty happy I've got most of it right but I'm sure there's something I've missed
Canon 1000D with 50mm 1.8 lens
Aperture priority ISO 400 1/100sec f1.8 Partial metering No flash
Your comments, please, and thanks for taking...
First, I know the highlights are way too bright  but I just wanted to see what advice I could get re this pic.
It's a photo of my Grandaughter, Emie.
It's actually a composite. The sharper spurs blowing of the head are actually from another photo but Emie was out of focus so I blended...
Yep, #2 and #4 for me. Great compositions, sharp and very engaging eye contact. The veil in #2 just gives a hint of mystery, if that doesn't sound to 'arty'!
Good work
Original shot before such heavy processing
I know the shirt blends into the background and space was an issue for getting further away from it but I wanted a high-key effect. Maybe too high-key to the point of parts blowing out.
Onwards and upwards!
Thanks for looking and please feel free...
