Help - I need to get ceative

Cheers guys, soaking it up is one thing, but regurgitating it as something meaningful is another matter. I believe creativity can be learned - upto a point, I need to learn how to see more creatively. I see Central St Martins have a huge number of short courses, but picking the right one is...

Help - I need to get ceative

Not sure which thread to put this in - mods please feel free to move. I'm shooting products for my own home accessories business, and I'm quite happy with the general results. I can set up the lights, camera background etc, but I am having real trouble designing a set. I can take the product...

Newbie needs advice ...UPDATE using advice received

Hi Asha, definitely a lot of improvement, imho the problems you describe in the second shot are probably more to do with the angle the rider is approaching at, whereby the focus will be constantly changing. The first is almost parallel and will give you a longer focus window. Probably higher ISO...

Newbie needs advice ...UPDATE using advice received

Great advise from everyone, I would also add that you need to stop down the aperture. I see both were shot at f2.2 which will give an extremely shallow DoF, I used to aim for f8 upwards depending on the light, and just to reinforce the good advice - you must carry on panning after the shot.

    Weird Drops......

I like the concept, but too shallow DOF to work for me, maybe focus stacking would have worked better.

    Opinions please?

Colour for me, but maybe a more severe b&w conversion to increase the contrast might work. Still it is a very good shot.

Playing with a reversed 50mm and tubes

I bought a set from Poland a few months ago, I think they were about £45 from Mike's Photography (can't remember exactly) but they look exactly like the ones in the link. Arrived pretty quickly and work fine.

    Your thoughts on this

I think b&w works very well on this, suits the era of the bike.

    Neighbours spycam - HELP!!!

Cheers Jeff, to be fair Tori, the officer has been very helpful and did suggest that if goes back up they can have a word with them if I wish. Hi Gramps as I said earlier I would be uncomfortable having a full-time policeman coming round, but it was the community support guy and he took a walk...

    Neighbours spycam - HELP!!!

Camera has been removed, strangely enough almost as soon as the community officer left!! Spoke to him this morning and confirmed that there was not much the police could do, but he did comment that he was seen as he left my house yesterday "a fair bit of curtain twitching" was his words. So...
