1/ Yes 2/ They are mainly a summer visitor, but a small (but increasing) number spend the winter in Britain, surviving on berries and food offered in gardens - as this bird is doing

    Denbighshire Floods

Thanks for replies The horizon is a tricky one, with the mountains and trees making it look a bit wonky. I've used the waterline as the horizon, as this grid shows. Any suggestions where I should place it if its off?

    Denbighshire Floods

It was -3 this morning, so it could happen I was surprised by the calmness of the water, especially considering the other side of the road (where the river was supposed to be) had a strong current. There were even 2ft whirlpools about!

    ID please ?lesser whitethroat

Dark legs suggests Lesser Whitethroat, I think Whitethroats have brownish legs Its general shape and colour also looks like lesser, along with lack of prominent eye-ring as mentioned

    Common Darter

I've never posted a photo here, so hello  I got this shot of a male common darter yesterday in RSPB Conwy Is the crop too much? Too extreme? The bottom was out of focus an a bit pointless, and above the backgroud contrasted a lot to the light brown wood and therefore, in my eyes, was...
