Looking forward to this lens. I have the original 35L and I love it. The MTF charts look amazing.
It's like Canon got a bit annoyed with Sigma and worked their ass off for a slam dunk against them.
How much are we talking on import do you think?
I really must clean my lenses more. I must admit to not doing it too often.
I do usually use the cloth you get. I find them quite good. I'd never use a liquid solution of any kind.
For things like that, the cheap alternatives are sometimes the best way to go.
eBay is always a good source for triggers, but don't expect them to last long.
I own a 70-200 f2.8 IS II and a 135L. I have thought about selling the 135L but I just can't do it.
The 135L has some great advantages over the 70-200
Slightly more light
Better Bokeh
When I want a lighter bag
Partly, I still think its not right to stop people taking photos during a wedding.
She could of done it in a better way. It's not my fault that's the business model she's chosen. She has to consider that when offering that service.
I did actually write the original post in a manner which asked...
I wasn't using a flash at all. Let me assure you all i was taking purely candid photos.
My uncle laid for the wedding and both him and my cousin (the bride) wanted me there and to take photos too! They wanted me to photograph the wedding officially but declined.
It turns out the photographer...
I don't get people who say you don't need IS as you can crank up the ISO.
I was shooting last week with IS and ISO at 6400, and getting good shots. Without IS the shots wouldn't of been useable as there would be too much blur!
It's brilliant, better than the 24-70L (though only used that for 2 months) but not as good as the 24-70 Mark II! It's still a brilliant lens and I couldn't live without IS now!
It's amazing how a simple question has turned into a mess of assumptions.
FYI, I've actually shot 3 weddings before but due to actually hating it I actually decided not to do any more. My website was never finished as I never got around it to. I do the odd paid job and often turn down enquiries...
I made a point in the original post to state how I was never in the way. I was at a completely different location. This was before the formal shots too.
There were so many others taking shots and were getting in the way and never did the photographer say anything to them.
