A few photos from my recent 3 month trip to Indonesia. Was my first trip with a DSLR and all of the below photos were taken with a d3000 using either the 18-55 kit lens or an AF 50mm (manual focusing!).
First photos I've put up for critique so welcome to everything

Hi Ryan, I'm a fresh faced 19 year old so I thought I'd pitch in. If her college offer it, Photography is obviously a probably going to be top of the list. Otherwise photography can sometimes be covered within Art/Graphics, or she could even sit both if she's particularly creative. For her...
Perhaps a good friend of Sue Shi, a raw fish enthusiast from the same 'unit'?!
Haha, i get the idea  - need to check feedback/credentials more. Can see the same lens for about a tenner more from a seller with 100% feedback.
Good thought. I've been through more than 10 pages of feedback and only reached the 7th July. Seems the 'guy' is really shifting some gear.
Says UK postage will take 2 days. Are ebay guys usually pretty trustoworthy on this? I need the lens by friday!

Looking to get one of these lenses. Is this too good to be true? I know they do...
1st taken with normal settings
2nd taken with white balance pushed to Cloudy, contrast boost and sharpening boost
I prefer the 2nd but it is too 'yellowish'!
Usually shooting in the highest quality JPEG on offer. Shot a couple in raw in order to try my hand on PS but haven't got round to it yet!
How do I put a put photo in a post:(!
Thanks for the comparisons TheBigYin! I usually shoot in A but maybe I should make better use of the programme...
Good afternoon all
I made the transition do a digital SLR after forcing myself to learn with a film camera a few months back. I initially bought a d3000 and am now looking to upgrade to a d80 or d90. Whilst I have enjoyed the whole digital expereince so to speak, I can't help but feel...
After my earlier investigations as to a new lens i have narrowed it down to the following....
Nikon 55-200mm VR
NIkon 70-300 G
Sigma 70-300 APO DG with Macro
Am looking for a reasonable zoom for travel photography, some street work, and the odd sports event. Nikon 70-300 VR is...
I'd also vote for cross processing, though as Musicman says, cheap film and processing can create that sort of effect. One of my friends uses a particularly 'bad' type of disposable that creates pictures like this...
I've just decieded to upgrade my d3000 to a d80 to make use of AF lenses! However, I still am lacking a zoom lens.
Does this open up any new options, or are the AF-S lenses significantly improved?
2 votes for the 55-200 VR then.
This is coincidentally is the plan for winter time  (return of student loan payments) but i currently lack the funds :(
I should probably add that my main use of the lens will be for street and travel photography. I would like at least 200mm of...
