    Take anywhere camera

Just my 2p. My Panasonic FT2 kept fogging up when I went skiing last year and it died when I went swimming with it in Portugal this summer. Their toughness is questionable. As for take anywhere cam, I just got myself an S100. Brand new for £199 from WEX which I think is a great deal.

    A day in Skye (set)

Love #1, reminds me of when I went there as a kid and my family's car got swamped by about 20 of them! Superb composition, the balance between the subjects and the background is perfect. Others are great too. #4 is my second favourite. I dislike the vignetting on these photos they're too much...

    Camera bag for uni

Hi guys, I'm looking for a camera bag that can hold - 5D2 + 24-105 in safety - macbook pro 13" - lecture notes in A4 ringbinder - miscellaneous items, lunch and - can be worn comfortably while riding a bike - not ridiculously large - doesn't scream super nerdy camera bag The...

Is the 20D going to hold me back?

For landscape where high ISO doesn't really matter 20D is more than capable. I took some great photos with the 30D 18-55 IS combo recently. Where I didn't have wide enough view I just took several frames and stitched it together in post. Worked really well; do four put it together et voila you...

    24-70L f4 IS

ah ok thought it was too good to be true!

    24-70L f4 IS

If it's got good optics and reasonably priced people will buy it. Think 70-200 F2.8 IS vs the F4 IS, though in that case there's a more obvious size difference too. It's still considerably smaller than both the 24-70 f/2.8 and the 24-105 IS. If it's £799 launch it'll hopefully be sub £500 after...

Replace 18-55 and 70-300 canon lenses for 18-250 sigma?

Yes it will almost certainly be a downgrade in quality.

Lens advice - super telephoto for trekking

Haven't read the entire thread but... Crop sensor does not magnify anything. It's a cropped image of a FF sensor. I know what you meant but hey. 70-200 f/2.8 is not any smaller than 100-400 it's about the same size. Weighs quite a bit. f/4 versions are much smaller and feels about half...

    Canon EOS M Series Cameras

So I had a play with this at a local store today. First impression: it's much smaller than expected. The camera body itself is no bigger than most compacts. It felt smaller even compared with the NEX because of the lack of grip (not a plus imo I'd rather have a firm hold). What I did not...

    Canon EOS M Series Cameras

Sony NEX5N - 110.8x58.8x38.2 Canon G12 - 112x76x48 I think it can be done (if Canon wants to that is!).

    Canon EOS M Series Cameras

err, no  Why would you stick on the EF-M mount and not have an APS-C sensor in there? I thought that was implied. 18-55mm IS EFM lens on a G12 body, giving 28.8-88mm. I'd prefer something like 15-50 IS powerzoom, would be even better. I would love an OVF/EVF but that would add to the bulk +...

    Canon EOS M Series Cameras

I see the EOS M as a missed opportunity... If they just took the Canon G12 body, stuck on the EF-M mount and taken off the optical VF that'd have been an awesome small package and I'd have been very tempted.

Rubbish pictures, should I carry on or give up?

Any examples we could look at? You're getting blurry shots at shutter speed 1/400 or ISO400?
