Visiting Bempton tomorrow. Any advice on kit..

Definitely agree with gramps and snerkler, it's great to see the puffins but it's most unlikely you'll get close enough. The gannets in flight are close but it gets tiring tracking them with a big lens, but you will need the longest lens you've got.

    Nikon D800......

It truly is a bit of a beast [emoji7] but great to use.

Bag suggestions to fit a super telephoto?

I've just bought a Think Tank Glass Limo (recommended by someone on here). It'll take the 150-600 sport with some space for other lens. I'm not sure if it is hand luggage size though.

Which Messenger Bag for FF body + 70-200 f/2.8?

I've got a Think Tank Retrospective 40 which will take a gripped D810 with the 70-200mm mounted stored vertically. The website also says the Retrospective 20 will take the 70-200mm mounted.

Beginner Camera suggestions for 9 year old girl

My almost 7 year old daughter had a go with a D40x and looked really competent. One of the more modern equivalents, the D3x00 series would do fine.

Well I tried the lens in the mini trekker on the D810 today and it was a very tight squeeze. Time to go shopping for a new bag methinks [emoji2]

It was yesterday and it was DPD not the postman, but he brought me my Sigma 150-600mm Sport in the most enormous box.

When I'm paying for most of it, it's only fair I get to choose the present [emoji3]

If you get a pay rise...?

The same where I work, except they also drag the negotiations out to Christmas as a way of encouraging people to accept (and have the back pay in time for Christmas). Unsurprisingly, no one thanks them.

That's good to hear as I've just bought one, being delivered tomorrow [emoji1]. But it's a birthday present so I ought to wait [emoji22] .

Putting DVDs onto a hard drive?

If you like simple then this is the way to go. You could plug in an Apple TV and pay someone to stream films you are ready have to your tv, but who wants to pay again for something they've already paid for. If you want to copy your DVDs to a hard drive, then you'll have to get your hands...

Putting DVDs onto a hard drive?

I've used MakeMKV to rip to mkv files in the past. To play back on the TV something like the WD Live or an android box running kodi would do fine.

What did the postman bring you today!!?

A Lensmaster RH-1 gimbal, secondhand of eBay, but looking mint.

    Lining a drawer for lenses

Pick and pluck is the way to go. It's really easy to use and you can stick two layers together if you need more height. In fact I was considering reworking my storage for cameras and lenses with pick and pluck soon myself.
