Notice Some big changes coming to TP

Whatever the outcome is, I want to say thanks for the time you've invested into running this forum, even when you've lost the enthusiasm for it. I posted very frequently when I joined in 2007, but as with all hobbies/interested, enthusiasm comes and goes, resulting in me being a lot less active...

    Fungus on new lens

Hi folks, I bought a Nikon 16-85mm from eBay which was described as being in good condition. I got it for a good price, but when it arrived today I noticed what looks like fungus on the inside. I've never had fungus on any of my lenses, but from Google searches it looks like fungus. What sort...

    Fairy Pools, Isle of Skye

You have a few nice compositions there, it's just a shame about the sky. For me, the blown sky and the blue/purple halo/fringing is too distracting. Instead of looking at the beautiful pools and the mountain behind it, my eye is immediately drawn to the sky and pulled away from the main focal...

Hi folks, I spent the day out in the hills yesterday which unfortunately didn't go to plan (I was intending to camp). I did however manage to get one photo between the clouds and the rain that I'm fairly happy with - Stob Ban and its quartzite rock. Stob Ban by Steven Fergus, on Flickr

Thinking about a home printer- advice?

Just want to say that this has been a helpful topic, thanks. I've been wantint to do home prints for years and I didn't realise it could be done for a dew hundred £'s. The IP8750 seems perfect, but could I ask why you didn't give the Pro 100s a look?

Brilliant, you did a great job! It looks brilliant. The only thing that concerns me is the lack of insulation, have you found it to be a problem? I'm on the look out for a transit custom to convert, not sure what sort of design to go with yet!

Tripod with level on legs or head with level

I think I'll just go for the one that you linked. I don't want to replace my call head with it, I'll just keep it in my back or rucksack to use and required. I've been looking for a while and there aren't actually that many L brackets made for the D7100, I did find one on Amazon though...

Tripod with level on legs or head with level

Thanks very much for taking the time to explain! This one looks similar and gets good reviews: koolehaoda 360° Mini Panoramic Tripod Head Metal Clamp Compatible with RRS/Arca-Swiss Ball Head Quick Release Plate, Camera Tripod BallHead (H2-Panoramic base)...

Thanks Hoppy. Sorry for my ignorance, but my ballhead has a pan function on it, how does this differ?

Tripod with level on legs or head with level

Sorry maybe I misunderstood your initial point. I suppose if you mean to remove the tripod head then put my phone on top of the tripod to level it then that would work. Is that what you were talking about?

Tripod with level on legs or head with level

That's what I was going to do Jim, but my head is quite poor quality and I'm thinking of replacing it. I was wondering if you get heads which have a level on the main body of them?
