AF-S hands down, the focus acquisition speed alone is worth it. I recently upgraded from an 80-200 AF-D to a second hand 70-200 AF-S VRI and am still marveling at it's focusing speed. I did want the 80-200 AF-S but it was more expensive lol!
Good effort for your first go :) Loving the orange hues and composition on #2. You obv have a eye for composition so now you just gotta master Photomatix and you'll have some stunning work.
Here's a tip when using Photomatix - if your working with an image that contains bright sky (like most of...
50 in your pocket and 70-300 on the camera ;) I find a zoom is always best at these events as you can get some great candids (food and people) without too much hassle.

Any help...

Just checking I understand it right... anything I get wrong please correct me ;)
So if I bought a 17-55mm DX lens for a D7000 and a 17-55mm FX lens for a D700 and compared them next to each other, say one eye in the D7000 and the other eye in the D700, apart from looking like a moron they...
Hi again all
First thanks loads for the comments above about all me pics so far, I've taken them all on board and am glad you all like/dislike them for your different reasons
Personally I think my fox shot is my best yet but seeing as we're only on week 4 I'm hoping to top...
Style
So for week 3 I snapped this pink graffiti stencil of a notorious fox just up the road from me. It's stylish in a design sense and I really like the bright pink paint against the grubby white tiles and gritty, dirty paving stones. I agree it's not a particularly pleasant scene to look...
