5D II with eye-Fi works flawlessly with ShutterSnitch on the ipad, so there's no reason it shouldn't work as well with the 5D III.

Try the Nissin 866 MarkII as an alternative to the 580ex II.

Add a little bit more to the 100 and get a 55-250 IS.

1900 I think, they carry the best discharge rate.

I bought the Lee Foundation Kit, the 77mm wide angle adaptor ring and then some Hitech 100x150 ND graduated filters. These are good for UWA on full frame and work beautifully with my 17-40. Not cheap but worth it.

Nissin Di866 mk II for £180 ish - all the features of the 580ex II for half the price.

I know it'll never happen.... but... I'd love it if they brought out a similar firmware update for the 5D Mark II, which gave you the better auto ISO options.

If a dslr newcomer actually makes use of their new 550D then as far as I'm concerned it's a worthwhile purchase. I say this because I have a number of friends and family who have jumped onto the dslr bandwagon over the last 3 years, all of whom have been avid photographers for a total of about 2...

I'm with taz. You can pick up a good second hand one for 600ish. Lighter and sharper than the 2.8 or 2.8 IS, which for me makes up for the loss of a stop.
