I bought the Lee Foundation Kit, the 77mm wide angle adaptor ring and then some Hitech 100x150 ND graduated filters. These are good for UWA on full frame and work beautifully with my 17-40. Not cheap but worth it.
I know it'll never happen.... but... I'd love it if they brought out a similar firmware update for the 5D Mark II, which gave you the better auto ISO options.

I'm with taz. You can pick up a good second hand one for 600ish. Lighter and sharper than the 2.8 or 2.8 IS, which for me makes up for the loss of a stop.
