A whirlwind trip to Skye (Reworked image added - Opinions welcomed)

Absolutely love number 2. I'm off to Skye for a few days at the beginning of March so I am doing a bit of reading up for some of the spots.

Am I too late? Milky Way

It is possible, and the Milky way will always be visible, providing the skies are clear enough. This was taken in Cornwall in July. I'm looking forward to some time off that coincide with clear skies over the winter. This was 50mm on full frame. TwentyEight/FiftyTwo - Dust by Aaron, on Flickr

    British Downhill Series-Llangollen

Took a drive over to Llangollen to try to get some shots of the Downhill race. I've not shot bikes for a few years and it was good to be back on the mountain although I'm paying for it today! Here's a few from the weekend. Taken with Canon 6D and either Sigma 70-200 f2.8/ Sigma 17-35 f2.8-3.5/...

    Polaris Star Trail

Up the iso and drop your aperture as low as you can. You'll pick up more stars then. Counter the shot over exposing by shooting for 20 seconds if need be.

    Beginner N.Y N.Y

Share using the BB code (to the right of the image you should see a small arrow, that's the share button, find the BB code there) . Copy from Flickr and just paste it into the thread. I'm not massively keen on the framing of the first shot. It's a bit too busy for me. The second shot, I'd be...

    Thames Barrier

I like the third shot, could do with some better editing though, more contrast but that's a personal opinion. For the first two, I would have gone closer to the barriers again and cut off the small bit of shoreline in the right hand corner. What lens are you shooting with? The Haida 3.0 ND...

South Stack trails and some stacking issues.

I've removed the red, must be some flare from the lighthouse. Starry south stack by A_Cro, on Flickr Portrait of South Stack by A_Cro, on Flickr

South Stack trails and some stacking issues.

The squares only show up once the image was stacked. It happened using both Starstax and Photoshop, but only on images that I'd edited. In the first one I had the settings in Starstax as Gap filling and using Comet mode, so you get a bit of a tail to the end. The second shot was just using...

South Stack trails and some stacking issues.

Thanks. I think it could be some lens flare. I should have looked at removing it really.

South Stack trails and some stacking issues.

A bit of an unplanned night last night but I noticed the forecast was clear. I headed over to Anglesey to get this shot, one I had wanted to get for a while. The wind was howling and it was pretty cold, I had also been up 16 hours by the time I got there and had an hour drive home so didn't stay...

    Cambridge

Some cracking shots here. Just searching TP for some inspiration as I'm going tomorrow with the wife. She's on a course for two days so I'll be wandering around with the camera, just hope the weather is alright...

Stars over Blea Tarn, Langdale, Cumbria

Very nice and works well in B&W Only if you to shoot somewhere that needs lighting up. Otherwise you'll miss a lot of stars. It's incredible the difference between a full moon and new moon.

    Around Snowdonia

Cheers for the comments. I think I've got as far as I can go with number three. I only use Lightroom for PP so selecting certain areas isn't going to happen (not with my skills anyway) Bonni - There is a car park halfway down the lake. Park up and go for a bit of a walk, you should find it...

    Around Snowdonia

Wanted to get an early start on my first day off since Christmas. Who wants a lye in anyway? Throughout the week in work I was greeted with some fabulous skies so I thought (hoped) that the trend would continue. Unfortunately I was wrong. The sunrise was non existent but there was some half...
