I have a friend who is into his Comic Con stuff and he asked me if I could take a few shots of him in various comic outfits. This was one of them. Shot with a speedlight in a softbox to the right and a speedlight on a stand to the left.

I was asked to take a family portrait just before Christmas, but two of the little lads just wouldn't cooperate so I had to think of an alternative, and remembered seeing something similar to this, but with a smaller family.
I thought I would give it a try. I am pleased with the result, but the...
With it being the xmas decorations season something I’ve been wanting to try is using fairy lights in a portrait, quite pleased with the result and have a few more ideas to continue with this but only so much cooperation/patience I can get from my moody teenager.

Being portrait photographer I don't get to be photographed very often. So the only one option is to set the tripod and capture a self portrait - like the one below - with creative twist.

And just in case you'd like to find out...
Hi photo friends!
I went out into the woods today, armed with a neglected Nikon, kit lens and a nifty fifty. And a friend :)
My goal was to capture her in a manner where she felt comfortable about her appearance in the photo, she hates it when she's super smiley and gets awkward about it...
Here are some recent photos of my family. I think they work in B&W but can upload the colour version if you wish. Critique and pointers/tips are most welcome.
A few things that bother me a little bit
The mouth in #1 is not in focus
The hair on the forehead in #2
The dappled light in #3. I...
These are some of the photos I took of my youngest. I'm still learning the camera but critique and pointers are always welcome.
The first one bothers me because of the white top that pulls the eye to it.

Hi all,
Has been ages since I've posted in here but thought I'd pop in to share a few of my recent portraits. As always, my editing style isn't for everyone but quite a few of these have been commercial shoots & the client was very (very!) particular about the style and look she wanted...

I covered an engagement shoot at the weekend. We went to a local park where the early morning mist was still lingering. Here is one of the shots. I would have preferred the girl to have had her head straight as it looks attached to her partners head, but I was concentrating on the bit of...

I have to admit that the hair was pure fate. It was just a sudden blast but sometimes one has to get lucky ... :-D

Am I the only one that finds it difficult sometimes to come up with a great caption for my artwork? How do you come up with a relative caption? Some captions I read have nothing to do with the image I’m looking at and that degrades the image in my eyes. When I see a bad caption it comes across...

I'm pretty much poor at the moment and will have to save in order to buy anything (I was signed off work due to mental health issues, but that's another story). I've been doing a lot of lurking around the internet and watching YouTube vlogs concerning cameras and equipment - Such as Tony/Chelsea...
