Coming in a bit late to this, but I agree with Matty: I want to look at pleasing pics.
FOR ME, the rarity of the subject or difficulty in obtaining the pic have no influence on the enjoyment I get from looking at it.

It was intended to separate the Mammals (and others) from the birds.
As there were (are) a load of "birds" being posted.

personally i think there are too many 'areas' and it gets very confusing. For example I don't like macro much so I don't look in that section, only for someone to put a macro shot of a fly in the 'nature wild and free' section - all very confusing tbh

as for the birds - I think Sarah's suggestion of putting <wild> or <captive> in the thread title would work fine.
