Fillum in Newcastle?

After a bit of a break - and repeatedly packing my neglected Hasselblad on trips - I have rekindled my love for photography and run out of film! There were four rolls of HP5 in the depths of my dusty old Billingham and two days into my five day escape to the Pennines I am on my last roll. Tomorrow I plan to go and sample the watering holes of Newcastle so would appreciate any recommendations for favourite camera shops to stock up on 120 film in the Toon.

I promise to return and post a few on these pages when I return.

I hope this message finds you all well!

Regards

Mark

Also remember a lot of the larger Boots stores stock Ilford film in 120

Edit, too slow but WHS

And as an alternative, there's a Jessops in Gateshead. I just tried their website, and they have HP5 in 120 in stock (£7.99) and going for the "collect in store" option, they say it would be available in Gateshead to collect from 11 onwards tomorrow. Whether it would I don't know...

Boots does HP5 in 120 at £6.99, buy one get one half price! Even our small Boots has at least one roll.

The last two Boots I went into no longer do the deals on film, very annoying.

Whilst Newcastle centre has NO camera shops left that I'm aware of there are two on the high street in Gosforth. One is a branch of LCE: http://www.lcegroup.co.uk/Branch/?Branch=Newcastle
and the other is Robertsons - http://www.robertsonsofgosforth.co.uk/

I've never bought film at either although both sell second-hand film cameras so that might increase the probability they have some.

However, as others have said, Boots is definitely the safest option and HP5 is one of the small range of films they stock in 120.

There is also a Jessops in the MetroCentre (about five miles out of Newcastle centre, but if you're driving there, easier to get to)

I believe both do still sell film though I wouldn't vouch for its freshness in either case.

If you're in the Byker area (which is well located for a number of aforementioned watering holes) then pop in to Digitalab. They do still sell film I believe and also do their own dev/printing too. Nice chaps also (but rubbish name from a film enthusiast's perspective, I admit). http://www.digitalab.co.uk/

Many thanks all, secured the last two rolls at boots and it was buy one get one half price!

One roll in stock when it's buy one get one half price would be annoying Chris!

I always check the expiry dates as well, sometimes you can get a very good bargain when you can point out they are expired!
