Shot this last weekend. Pretty happy with the results considering it was a black car. Still loads and loads to learn with shoot black cars yet but I'm looking forward to the next one.

C&C on any if you wish.

Not keen on numbers 1 + 2, the lighting is too harsh and number 4, that's either a lamppost or a very big aerial......

I like numbers 3,5 and 6 though (y)

This was my poster card from the eighties..............

Not so keen of the earlier shots, but do like 10 and 12 - i like the lighting effect on the paintwork.

Not bad for a twenty odd year old car!

Gary

Some corkers in there for sure. Loving number 12. The low stance you shot it at makes it look mean.
I like the way you have shot half of it in number 7 but would have preferred a better backdrop than the fence.
Awesome set mate. Darth Vader would be very happy with that Cosworth!

#10 and 12 for me - lovely aggresive stance accentuated by the composition.

Oh and thats what you call a proper RS500!!!!!

A Proper RS built by Ford. Thankyou for sharing them with us

Not sure on the location mate...I think I find it hard to take to shoots of old cars, as legendary and rare as this one may be

Can't honestly offer how I would make it any better though :/ like I said, maybe a diff location?

Thanks,

Luke

#3 for me I think, cracking set mind. Not a bad looking example for the miles. I reckon you've done the old girl justice though (y)

Some stunning shots in there

And what a GORGEOUS car
I've always wanted one of them...........

A great set overall - I would have sold limbs for one of those 15-20 years ago, although I was lucky enough to have driven one once.... :police:

3, 10 and 11 for me
A couple of those look like they could have been on the sales brochure.
I'm the same as DekHog and would have sold body parts for one of those (probably still would now)

12 is absolutley stunning. My only crit would be that it seems a little "lop sided" with the girder on the left, and nothing to balance it on the right, but that's just in my mind - might actually look odd with one on each side!

The whole set is great, and an awesome subject (y)

nice set one off my all time fave cars....
Thank you.

All rubbish ;)
Ah, glad you like them haha :D.

Nice set, no 10 works best for me. Its a well kept motor that ay :)
Thanks, It's pretty clean for the mileage, still even has all the original windows, even the windscreen.

#10 for me too, but all great pics of automotive porn!
Thanks.

Thanks Luke, I thought this type of location would suit the RS500 well. I'd say that choosing a location is the hardest part of automotive photography.

Nice set mate, interesting locations.

Can't help thinking you've missed an angle
Mick
Thanks, What angle am I missing?

Great car and lovely photos.
Thanks

Nice Cossie!
Thanks

That rolling shot and number 11 are MMMAAAAAAADDDDD lovelovelovelove massive car nut here lovely jubbly!
Cheer Peach :)

My thoughts exactly, none of this aftermarket mocked up BS like those Focuses! (excuse the rant but I'm a blue oval purist I'm afraid)

Nice shots by the way.
Lol, thank you.

I would sell limbs to own one aswell

Thanks, I don't think they are that good yet but I will get to that standard.

Thanks for the crit. :)

would still look good printed out and on a teenagers wall lol
I had a Lamborghini Countach on my wall under the San Fransisco Bridge

Im afraid there's something not quiet on the money for me. However they do have something, 3 & 11 are a bit more dynamic& are the best for me. It's not a track or rally car, the street is where it would look 'right'. Some how though the background's not just got it. Also it's been said before Black cars are best either gleaming or mucky. Some of these look 'grimy' Just MHO, not far off right, but not there.

Am I reading this right???

I guess so

Interesting statement considering this car (not in the literal sense) spent many a happy time competing in the BTCC and Lombard RAC rally.

As such I think it would look right with many a background

What do you mean by 'grimy'? Not heard that term before.

I appreciate the comments about the location and setting (y)

3, 10, 11, and 13 for the win...

I like how your coming along Dal, some stong images within this set. The location does'nt bother me as much as others.
Thanks Snapper, really appreciate that buddy.

Yes you are reading it right. The car I photographed IS a street car NOT a trackcar, BTCC car, or a Rally car so his comments are correct.

But it's THIS car that's been photographed, not a BTCC or Rally car so I would hardly photograph this on a rally stage when it's in road trim.

I mean it's a 'street car' rather than the full 'motor sport item' - still not explaining this well ! :D (not covered in ads, with cage etc) If it were, it could be pictured sliding around a 'track' & look more at home.
A bit like the Audi in Ashes to Ashes, where there were some impressive images of it in an urban environment. (it looked at home)
Maybe it's showing it's age, the paint just not gleaming. (a bit grimy -mucky?) Please don't misunderstand, I like the car, just somehow the pics don't wow me. Frustratingly they're not far off & Im struggling to see what would do it for me other than the points I observed. Hey ho, I've various pics of cars I wouldn't post not because they're bad, just not a wow, nothing not seen before.

I get what you are saying. I personally reckon the car would look at home, parked on an empty grid or in an empty pit lane, or on the brow at druids, as a black and white, possibly, reflecting in it's past showing it has a racing pedigree that most car manufacturers can only aspire to?

I really appreciate the feedback. I want to get to the WOW status with my shots but it can be tricky sometimes. I will get there soon though I hope :D
