As i say, i was pleased to find this wasp as it was just outside my back door! i dont have a garden, only a brick walled yard. I have seen this wasp (or another one) 4 times today on my house wall and around my water feature. It was on the water feature, on a large pebble that i found it yesterday after the rain. Here is a pic of the pebble
