Nikon D800......

That was my concern. Fairly long focal length for manual focus - for me anyway.
For a moving subject it would be akward alright, but general stuff I'd say it would be fine. That recent shot of the Doberman I posted above was a tricky grab shot with the Sammy 85mm f1.4, I shot two images close together and one was great and the other was pants outta focus, but the dog was not sitting still for too long, kept on shifting up and down.

Any manual focus lens isn't good for this style of photography.
 
Out for a lovely nine mile walk last weekend with our collie dog. This area of Central Scotland is really beautiful with these views, Ishbel and I are very lucky to have this on our doorstep.

Zeiss 21mm ?

Cheers Peter......no I dont sell anything.....have no idea where to, to be honest! Nope not the Zeiss, the NIkon 28-70 2.8 @ 70mm.
 
Great shot Neil, well composed, spot on colour, and if I'm not mistaken good use of a bit of fill light.(y)
