Oulton park 14th May, where did it all go wrong ?

I would argue that first point mate. The 40d is a very capable camera in terms of AF. Its just not very good at dealing with slow lenses.

Gary was using a 40d to great effect for several years and i used to get some reasonable shots with mine a little over a year ago. How time flys!

Well I guess we both agree really, Ned needs to ditch the TC :)

Surely 30th October 1960... oh hang on, typo, I thought he said pre maradona :D

I would love a media pass...
cant get one though
and I think I know what I am doing (waits to be shot down in flames)
And I am pre madona and maradona (old enough to know better maybe)

I'd love to have the time to hone my abilities by attending midweek test or track days but I have to attend work during the week(and some weekends) so I have to practice on the spot, the OP may have to do the same.?

The point about paid/unpaid etc boils down to insurance.
Professional photographers HAVE to have PLI before being granted media accreditation at race circuits in the UK. £5 million in the case of MSV circuits. Sounds like this guy circumvented the system somehow so had no insurance & would have been in serious, serious ***** if he had been involved in any sort of incident.
I suggest he worry about that next time as blurred photo's will be the least of his problems when the MSV legal team have finished with him!

No worries Mikethefoto, I was fully covered - thanks for your concern.
