Show us yer film shots then!

Another one from the Rollei.

When I looked at the scan I thought, why on earth did I shoot that it looks a mess with posts in front and windows above, then I realised that when I saw the scene, I could visualise this symetrical result with a minimal amount of PP ( although the pigeon could have done to have sat a few inches further left in the fountain.....so inconsiderate:p)

After my issues with the under-exposed Rollei Retro, I decided to set my camera's ISO dial a couple of stops lower than the film speed for my next roll (Ilford FP4 Plus this time), which has worked out ok here. The metering is probably still off a little, but well within (my) acceptable limits. All these are from my OM-1 anf 50mm f/1.8 F Zuiko.

At last I got my FILM processed due to my favourite BOOTS technician being on Holiday -- so can show you a selection of snaps taken at the London Chinese New Year of the Rooster. I used my 'Gift' Minolta Dynax 5
+28-100mm f3.5 -5.6 D lens
and outdated 01/2008 Konica VX 400 Super which I rated at 200 ASA and they all came out 'Perfeck' !! I used the built-in flash as we were hemmed in by the buildings of Charing Cross Road and it made all the difference. I had to 'clone out' on some scans a blasted Mobile Phone that a Chinese woman was taking EVERYTHING !!

Any particular reason why Pete? I can see lots of mobile phones in your pics, it is the 21st century after all.

There were MORE intrusive phones in the corner of several other photos which caught the flash but I didn't upload them here as there would be 'too many' If members want to see a few more I can show them .

I was out for a walk the other weekend intending to get some shots with the digital camera, also took my Canon A-E1P. This is shot with Agfa Vista 200.

That's very nice. Not 'in your face' but a very subtle, nicely composed shot.

A few from a newly acquired Konica Z-Up 120. A chunky and a bit clunky 35-120mm electric zoom box from the end of the last millennium that isn't actually too bad, especially as it only cost £4.50. I shot the single roll of Japan Camera Hunter Street Pan 400 that Steve got for me last year, I'm quite impressed, a very nice and contrasty film.

Some shots from Ystradfellte in Wales, where I recently went for a romantic weekend. Luckily I was allowed to bring the Bronica SQ-A along ;) On Portra 400, accidentally shot at 200.
Those are beautiful and I really like how the flare on the second shot lights the path. Did you do anything with the development to account for the ISO error? I suspect Portra's latitude is comfortable being a stop out. :)

Dean, you been asleep or what?:D

We covered the one stop error, yonks and yonks ago ( yawn!!:p:D:D:rolleyes:) But yes you are correct the lattitude meant no adjustment necessary in developing and i have to agree that they are two very nice results. Well done charlotte(y)

Thanks very much! I hoped the flare would turn out well. I got it developed at box speed - I had to pull the highlights down in Lightroom on all the photos (more here) but other than that, no real amendments needed.

Like this big A..:)

I've been trying to think what it is, figure out what the hook is
The nearest I can get is the Ministry of Magic HQ

I think these were from the last roll of film I shot, Rollei Retro 100, on a Nikon FE2 and 50mm f/1.4. All of Tintern Abbey on a rather overcast day last May and developed in HC-110 (dilution B) as a test roll before tackling my backlog. I liked the results but still haven't tackled the backlog. :$

In the dim and distant past I used to specialise in pictures of religion and religious practice, with emphasis on Indian religions. Here are a couple I took in the late 1990s using a Canon EOS50e with a Canon EF 28 - 80mm f3.5-5.6 using ISO400 transparency film. I still have my two matching cameras and lenses that I used to use on such occasions, as well as an Olympus OM2SP with lenses from the 1980s. The pictures were digitally scanned using a Canoscan 2700F.
1. Havan
17711-1486929447-2505c921f72a022aaa7fa5be60deea1e.jpg

This is a Hindu ceremony in which grain is sprinkled into the fire (the god Agni, who is the priest of the gods). As the grain is consumed by the fire Agni takes the prayers of the worshippers to the gods.

2. Sikhs Praying
17712-1486929500-f6c2e6c84412f9daae720e6b40bc5590.jpg

This picture of Sikhs in ceremonial dress was taken during the celebrations to mark the Tri-centenary of the Sikh Khalsa (the Pure Brotherhood of most devout SIkhs who are baptised and wear the 5K's) in 1999.

Both shots were taken using existing light only as I always tried to avoid the use of flash if possible so that my presence at such important occasions did not interfere with the ceremony taking place.

Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed working with such amazing religious communities.

Even drizzle has to have the occasional day off, but normal service was soon resumed again! :sulk:

Thanks Asha, the Saab is indeed mine and the hood wasn't only dropped for the photo as the temperature had crept up to 12C in Nairn last week, so that's warm enough to drive in when you're well wrapped up. The 5th camera also worked, but I thought that was more than enough photos from 1 person. (y)
