The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Toby that AI Generative fill has done a pretty good job, personally I'd have lost the road/track to the right of the tractor, its quite distracting, and the whole bright area on the top of the tractor front on the RHS is wrong, the light is from the left!!

The secoind one is very 'Sound Of Music'

Good shout on the road, now removed. I'm not sure which bit of light you're talking about as the tractor itself is unaltered?

Interesting, not sure I like it that extreme, looks a bit like the old vaseline trick ;)
I’ve absolutely no idea about these filters Toby. I also have 1/4 & 1/8th. Might try the strong one on portrait of an old person. Selfie maybe..

I bought one but it's too weak (1/8), can't really see an affect

Note the rag around the Oil tank filler. It's to protect the riders leg from resting on the filler cap. It's uncomfortable.

Nice set of old bikes Trevor, thanks for sharing and the link as I wouldn't usually be looking at this thread.

Nice set Trev.

You glad you took the plunge back into Song land now you’ve had longer with your gear?

Thanks mate.
Yes very happy. Must admit I looked long and hard at Nikon Z8. Decided that the Sony lens line up will suit me better.

50mm f1.2 and 35mm GM that swayed you?

Absolutely Toby. Two lenses that are worth sticking with Sony for. I know I’ll use the 35 the most. It’s a focal length I gravitate to. The 50 is my guilty pleasure.

Great lenses aren't they, best primes I've had for sure. Occasionally I still prefer the rendering of the Samyang over the f1.2 but for the most part the f1.2 gives better results and I can rely on the AF more for fast moving stuff.

Any lovers of old Triumph sports cars here..?

I suppose I'm quite lucky in that I recently moved and am very close to the Beaulieu motor museum. They seem to have a car show every weekend at the moment ranging from old classics to hot rods, bikes and custom cars.

Once upon a time I would have been there daily but I haven't visited in the 6 months since we arrived.

Get down there Mike.

Very nice

I drove the Escort up to Castle Combe on Monday as a couple of mates were doing a track day. I didn't even get the camera out of the car!
Thanks.

Missed opportunity there ;)

Thanks.

I did sort of plan to in some villages or something in the area. And take some photos of the day. But just enjoyed some passenger rides & just hanging around with people chatting & catching up. I needed it :)

Plus I left house just after 8am & walked back in around 6:30pm :ROFLMAO:

When I was a kid we had dog that used to do that, my mum would shout at him and my dad would say leave him alone he needed that :ROFLMAO:

I've recently become the owner of an A7ii with 28-70 kit lens and an E mount 55-210 (yes I know it's a crop lens and I'm limiting myself to 10mp with it but I've had some pretty good pictures with it so far). Anyway, my future plans are to get a 14mm Samyang FE ultra wide to use for astrophotography, but I need a decent (and very cheap) travel lens so was looking at the E mount 18-105 f/4 G (again, I know I'm limiting myself but I have a very small budget). Is there anything else in the sub-£400 area that I could look at as an alternative, bearing in mind that I want a bit more zoom than the kit lens

If you are happy cropping, why not just use the the 28-70 and put the £400 to future lens purchases.
