Without the safety cars incidents, it would have been a slam dunk for Max. As it was with the safety cars and a poor pit stop due to a dodgy wheel gun, we got to see something a bit more interesting that in the end was yet another clear demonstration of just how good the Red Bull car is this season and how well Max can get performance out of it.

And yes Alonso was very lucky to get away relatively unharmed in the incident with Stroll.

I think Alonso was blamed for that crash and knocked back to 15th?

I am happy. I'm a fan of Lewis but I didn't mind him not winning today and George did.

What about Max? Does he really think he's bigger than the team?
Don't you mean Charles? Those pleading radio calls did him no favours in my eyes.
Great race though. As exciting as the last one was boring.

Hulk confirmed at Haas.
So now they have two journeyman drivers. Not exactly a bold management decision, even though I like Hulk. Will probably get through less spare parts though #F1onashoestring

Who remembers who finished second anyway? Only the winners name on the trophy, second is first place loser.

Ricciardo joins Red Bull as reserve driver.
Has there been further confirmation of this? Last I saw was that Helmut had got all excited about it and made the announcement, but nothing has yet been signed. I’ve also been told that Coulthard has commented that if Perez isn’t happy with the way the (Red Bull) team is operating, he is free to leave… So that looks (to me) like Daniel is being used as stick to keep Sergio onside.

Shouldn’t they BMW powered to match the road cars?
I suspect that Aston Martin as a company have little if next to nothing to do with the F1 team, without Stroll Aston Martin has never been financial stable enough to fund an F1 team. I cant find the page I have seen in the past that list the names of the companies that actualy hold the licence to race in F1 Sauber is one and I expect Aston Martin are just Commercial branding similarly to Alfa Romeo where Sauber hold the license to race and Alfa is just the branding.

Interesting article about the differences between F1 and IndyCar.

Thanks for that Ric, really shows the difference between Indycar and F1. At the circuit of the Americas in 2019 the Indycar pole lap was a 1:46 at 115mph, whilst Bottas in an F1 car on the same circuit that year set a pole lap of 1:32 at 133mph. If Jamie Chadwick wants to race in F1, then she has to forget Indycar lights and go through the F3/F2 progression, to see how she measures up to the like of guys who are going to race F1, such as Leclerc, Norris, Russel etc.

I don’t agree. F1 seems to keeping a close eye on some of the IndyCar drivers. Palau is McLaren reserve driver, and Herta would have been in F1 next year if he’d accrued enough super license points.

With the caveat that you can never tell anything from testing, the Aston looks well planted this year, could Fernando have actually jumped the right way for once in his career?

I think people overlook a few critical years when reminiscing about his career.

He jumped to McLaren into a championship winning car. Lost out to Lewis in the same machinery, even after bribing the mechanics to his favour.

He jumped to Ferrari into a championship winning car. Lost out to Seb in the RB. On two occasions the championship went down to the wire.

It’ll be great to see him in another competitive car but he’s annoyed me a little. He used to be a reliable voice but now he’s sold a little of his soul to the Stroll devil. Cast back to USA last year, he would’ve decapitated anyone who turned into him needlessly. Yet he sings Lance’s praises even calling him a future World Champ…. Sure.
