Well the announcement is going to be starting in about 3 hours so rather than a dozen new threads appearing I'll start one now and we can add any links etc into it as we go (also I'll sticky it for maybe 24 hours so it does not get missed)........

Its just been announced, the Keynote started at 6pm.

Iphone 4s, same processor as Ipad 2. Now talking about games or something.

Sounds like they've put a lot into the camera...

hybrid IR filter, 1/3rd quicker, gathers 73% more light than iPhone 4, better colour accuracy and uniformity, 5 element lens, 30% sharper, f2.4
 
Can mirror it's screen via Airplay like the iPad 2

The Siri looks pretty awseome! Hope it actually works like the say it will.
 
The voice recognition sounds rather good!

Say to it "wake me up at 6am" and it sets the alarm

or

"Do I need a coat today" and it fires up the weather app...


I'd probably go "Oh F*** off" and it would loose itself.

Cool I must say.. For the first time I'm thinking of getting an iPhone..

(based on all new features not just that)
 
"Call my wife when I leave work"..

As soon as you leave a GPS boundry it set up, it'll call who you told it too..
That could be dangerous though!
 
The voice recognition app is called siri and it can access data from lots of places including wikipedia etc etc
 
So.. Who is preordering on the 7th??
 
I am very disappointed they haven't launched a phone with a 4 inch screen. They're missing a trick there.
 
I'll order one as soon as it comes up. My 3Gs is up in the next couple of months.

Not worth spending out on the 4S if you have a 4 IMO.

Only speed improvements and slightly better visuals for some apps. Certainly not worth £350(ish) and a 2 year tie in!
