I am off out to jersey again next week and I have two urbex's planned for my trip. A return visit to Ponitns possibly and an escorted visited around the now disused Fort regent swimming pool.
I loved my previous visits, both required no B&E not sure I would have the balls to take it to the next level and actually force entry if it came to it.

You have done a few brilliant ones (If I am thinking of the right person)....

I'm the same person, use the same name on numerous forums and in Flickr. Probably the same person! :D

I enjoy urbex immensely, part of the thrill for me is actually being somewhere that no-one else has been to. Involves a lot of research and a lot of luck. (mostly luck)

A recent explore looked like the workers had all just left for their tea break. Felt quite surreal.

I've been to Severalls Hospital in Colchester quite a few times but I've not been to anywhere interesting in a long time, it's trying to find someone to go with!!

I tried to stay part of 28days but the attitude over there just isn't for me.

But I have to agree, all the pictures are starting to get very 'samey'

You can say that again, it was mint!

This. This is exactly what armchair critics of urbex will never understand. That feeling you get, when walking around a place that looks like it could come to life any moment... it's incredible, really incredible.

Hi,

I have just joined this forum and do quite a lot of urbexing.

Here is a pic I took at Mid Wales hospital a couple of months back.

I used photomatix to create the HDR, any comments are welcome.

Some awesome pics, just added you as a contact on Flickr

is there enough interest to possibly ask for an urbex section for photos?

Not sure if there'd be sufficient interest. There's plenty of urbex forums around, but if you're particularly into the photographic side, then you might want to try the talkurbex forum, it's probably got the best photographers posting on it IMO.

You serious? From what I have seen, most of the photographs contain wildly over-cooked HDR.

OK, I'll re-phrase it.

;)

To be fair, most of the sites visited are excellent, no old farm buildings and stuff, and newbies are welcomed.

I'm just looking at getting into urbex... but need to know where to get started... it started when i was looking for an old building to do a model shoot, and somebody told me to look at a few urbex sites for ideas.

I made a post on 28DL but they werent very nice and it got deleted.

I was just asking for some ideas for locations in or near Birmingham or the West Midlands...

So..

If anyone knows of anywhere... drop me a PM!!

Asking for locations or access details is a not permitted on any Urbex forum and will usually end up in the thread being deleted or locked. As sectionate says it is just as easy to do a forum search, although dont expect any access details in any threads as that is also not permitted.

Yeah, I did a search and found a few... I wasnt asking for specific details of locations, nothing more than the thread headings for the reports. Such as "Fiveways tower, Birmingham" so didnt think that was a problem.

I also dont expect details of access or security, but i was just hoping somebody might say "Lallians flour mill is easy to access for beginners, and is in your area"

But hey... seems they arent very friendly over there... guess I'm too used to TP which is always friendly!

28days and friendly aren't two words I'd expect to see in the same sentence. 'UrbexForums' (A 28days ripoff) are also much the same.

i was wondering if anybody could help me, as im trying to find a photo a came across somewhere but i cant remember if it was on here, or a urbex site.
It's a photo of someone stood on top of Manchester city's stadium, (also named Eastlands)

thanks
and sorry for slight change of subject

I am afraid that Lallians Flour Mill is now secure with metal sheeting on all access points

I think the fact that you were banned from every UE forum in the country within days of joining says more about you than the forums. Joining and then slagging off everyone elses photo's isn't really going to get a friendly response is it? You've explored about two places and now your the world spokesman for UE:clap::LOL:

I cannot speak for 28days as I do not post on there but there is no way that Urbexforums is unfriendly, they are most welcoming to new members, also these forums are predominantly exploration forums, the photography generally takes second place.
Yes, it is nice to see great pictures but not all explorers (including myself) are accomplished photographers, these urbex forums are about documenting the sites visited. That is why I joined this forum, to try to expand my very limited knowledge of photography.

Newcastle urbexer. My favourite was St Mary's mental hospital but it's being demolished now.

Can I just remind everyone to keep it civil please.

I really don't care what has gone on with regards to other forums but this is not the type of response that we welcome, particularly from a new member.

Thank you.

Most of my photos are Urbex ones, I love the feeling you get when all your senses are heightened but most of all I love the people all over the UK I have met through my hobby.

*Trencheel as it has been pointed out you we're banned from Urbex Forums for your constant critisim and spoiling for a fight. If you remember rightly before the step to ban you took place I sent you many a pm trying to explain it is not a photography forum just merely somewhere for people to share their experiances. Yes most of us do get the photography bug as well but if we want critique we will come here and ask for it.

Over all Urbex forums is a friendly place and you we're damaging the enviroment, so it we tried to guide you so you could enjoy the forum alongside members, you failed to take that on board. We then decided the enjoyment of many was not worth having you as a member :)

**Hacker cross posted sorry...if you want to edit this you can but I would suggest if other forums can not have right to respond to him all his slating of ANY forum is also remove. Thanks :)

first post on here so a big hello to all :)

I've been into UE for about 3 or 4 years now and have seen stuff that few people would even know is there.
The photography came as a secondary thing as you cant claim bragging rights unless you can back up the claims.
The statement "pics or it didnt happen" is well used in UE circles

I've been a member of a few forums and have found that urbexforum's is possibly the best and friendliest open forum but as I'm not here to start commenting on other forums or get into the whole childish game of XXXX forum is full of losers , theives and noobs then I'll get to the point.

There's plenty of sites that can be easily done by non-explorer's or people who dont want to run the risk of arrest , angry security , metal theives and some of the general scum of the universe old abandoned buildings can attract.
Geordie69 (howdo G (y) ) has posted a shot of steetly magnasite works in Hartlepool above.
I've seen a few people on here saying they fancy giving UE a go which is great but have a look at some of the foums first and see whats being done.

There's loads to choose from - millitary , industrial , asylum's , drains/culverts ... you name it chances are your never going to be more than a 30 minute drive away from something thats going to make a good site not only photographicly but intresting to explore as well.

I'm fortunate in that I'm near St Mary's Hospital(the former Gateshead asylum) in Northumberland so I've visited the site many many times and always found something new to take pictures of or that the site has changed since my last visit.

Anyway enough of this lighthearted banter and now a few of my pictures ...

Whilst it would be naive to say no one on the UE scene ever breaks in, it is most definitely far from the norm (and even for most of those that have broken in its far from their norm also). A lot of fun comes finding a way in sometimes you have to get inventive and the better you can climb the better you will do.

Ive never forced entry, the most Ive ever broken exploring is a finger nail, as you get more experience it gets easier you spot cleaver ways into places, climbing ability improves etc. And mostly as I have been about exploring one thing that has struck me is how open some places are that you would just expect to be completely locked down.
