WBMT.....What baffled me today

Was watching random YouTube videos and came across this one

First 2 are Bohemian Rhapsody & Hotel California. Who on earth has forgotten those? Didn't bother after that.
Normal clickbait nonsense, won't watch, thanks for heads up. Girl fronting thumbnail wasn't even.thought of when Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody.

I think the word, 'not' wshould be added between the words, '18' and 'Forgotten'.

I've put this in WBMT but it could have gone in WAMT. No point in getting annoyed but it is baffling especially as the backpack is so large .Standing, it is 22" in height and 13.5" width . Interior depth 6.3."

On September 1st my wife sold my large camera backpack..the Tamrac Expidition 8...on Vinted. It's 'as new'. Too heavy for me with camera gear in so it had two outings in the car boot. I'm not on Vinted but she's sold a lot of her 'stuff' on it and very quickly, too. The delivery company is Evri. Tracking showed it was collected on September 1st and at one point 'out for delivery'. It remained in that state for about 10 days. Then a text came stating that they were unable to locate it and myself and the buyer would be refunded in full. Then, yesterday, another tracking notification. "Unable to deliver being returned".....to me within 25 days. My wife and the purchaser are in contact. She's asked that I don't re-sell on another platform and find a way to get it to her.My wife replied suggesting we re-send it to her but choose Royal Mail. The buyer thinks this is a good plan. It seems a seller can choose which delivery company to use.. I don't know if my wife 'chose' Evri or just went with what Vendit chose because, had I known, I would not have gone with Evri despite some people saying it's improved a lot since it merged with DHL who hold a significant minororty stake. It wouldn't be difficult tbh. On Trustpilot it's get a 5 star rating with 77%. 4 Star..6% three stars 2% One star 13%. I think the way Trustpilot calculates its star ratings is, maybe, flawed. Here is a review on Trustpilot posted just 14 minutes ago..so 11.27am...as I post.

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Awful company

No idea how they have such a high rating! Every single delivery I have ever had with them was either delivered to some random door, or was never delivered but marked as delivered. I’ve had countless parcels stolen by their drivers. I’ve also had to constantly contact them in order to establish what’s going on with my deliveries. Instead of just getting my parcel, I have to manage the logistics! I’ve tried asking for a delivery to my local parcel counter, but their drivers are so incompetent, they have no idea what they’re doing, so they just mark my parcel as “no one was home” and send it back. You’re meant to deliver to the locker!?!?!? Oh and the constant “we’re so sorry this has happened” is annoying when clearly the company doesn’t learn from its mistakes and keeps repeating them. If I could choose who to use for deliveries, Evri wouldn’t even be on the list!
As soon as I see something is coming via Evri, I know there will be issues.

I better post the reply. After this reply there were seven 5-star reviews and one 4-star then a one star. That one star was telling Evri they were sending a customer's details to the wrong person..ie wrong Email address.

This is the same automated reply to all customers with a problem. Another issue highlighted was not being able to speak with someone..just automated responses.

According to Ofcom, 22,000 Evri parcels go astray every day. It handles just over a billion items annually with a target of 1.4 billion by 2030.

Evri are an appalling outfit. We ordered a pedestal fan from Amazon during the first stages of the heatwave. It was only after the delivery was confirmed that I realised it was coming via Evri. Oh great. It didn’t arrive, unsurprisingly. Evri’s tracking showed it was in a local depot for a couple of weeks but they eventually told the seller they’d lost it. I got a refund but by then most fans had either sold out or had tripled in price.

I wonder if the fan is now either sitting in an employee’s house or has been sold off. They apparently “lose” so much stuff it makes you wonder how lax their warehouse security systems must be or how little they seem to care if their drivers are stealing the deliveries.

My Tamrac camera backpack has just been delivered to me. It's now wrapped in black plastic which I didn't put round it. I told the driver..a subcontractor, what happened and he said that Evri hire non-Evri delivery people ..ie sub-contracting and don't check who they are and in his depot last week the immigration people turned up.

Now my wife will let the buyer know and we'll re-send but choose Royal Mail.

In the past I have seen Post Office delivered mail re-bagged/over bagged if damaged in transit.

For fear of stating the obvious and were I in your shoes I would unwrap it to check for any issues?

Thanks, Laurence. I'll do that but it was a camera backpack and not fragile but I will check. There was a name and address on it. A nursing home in Droitwich. My guess is that's where the buyer works. Looks like the Evri driver couldn't be bothered to go to it so saying 'unable to deliver' wasn't true because there would be staff there 24/7

Fragile or not, you never know what condition it might be in, and why they re/over bagged it?

Hopefully it is aok and it will get to your intended recipient.

You're right. It needed checking even though there was only about 4" of removed sticky tape and a battered corner of the box. It was ok.

I wasn't sure where this might belong.....so here it is!

In the closing titles, as "Titles",of Have I Got News For You, this name caught my eye.

His name is a 'title' in itself.
