Currently watching Wales get thrashed, unless something changes drastically in the 2nd half.
We have a welshman here at work, he's not having a good day!
No Halloween callers last night, which was nice. And yes, I am a miserable old git and proud of it.
A tip for any fellow miserable old gits on Halloween. First caller of the night answer the door naked wearing a scream mask and holding a blooded axe. Apart from the police you will have no more callers.
It was "Penny for the guy" outside the local shops when I was a kidIt's one night, and we all did it as kids,
It was "Penny for the guy" outside the local shops when I was a kid
Usually outside the one selling fireworks
I'm not quite sure when begging with menaces started TBH.
My kids were never into it either.
Was that for the original Guy Fawkes? It was "Penny for the guy" outside the local shops when I was a kid
Nope. Never did it.
Have you not, ? its been called that for years "over here"I've never actually heard of 'begging with menaces' until this thread tbh
And quite some years previous tooBon fire was really where it was at back then
Ah yes proper childhoods, how did we ever survive eh?how none of us were ever killed ...
Shhhh don't let the cat outta the bag, I'm going for round 2 in couple of daysWas that for the original Guy Fawkes?
Nope. Never did it.

Our cat, quite happily watching the a wildlife programme on BBC1 about weasels and stoats. Mesmerized as she watches them darting about on the screen. At 15yrs old she has never once taken any interest in the tv before.
That must have been the programme about Robert Fuller and his ‘Stoat City’ which he built at his home. Stu Philpott gave a ‘heads up’ for it over in Wild And Free

I can well imagine a cat being transfixed by it. One of ours ( a grey one) used to sit on the chair by the tv and watch programmes like that. If we went out we’d leave it with the remote..lol. It was also fascinated with the piano and banged the keys. I see your cat is 15. That grey one lived to 24..next longest was 18.
I fall asleep when watching repeats tooYes that was the programme. I have just put it on BBC iPlayer on the tv for her. She has decided to have a sleep instead.
As kids, did we used to play together? We all did penny for the guy, bought bangers with the cash and chucked them at each other
Sometimes stuck them in dog s*** and watched it splatter all over the place, cars, shop fronts or a passer by
Looking back we were right little bastards, but none of the violence or drugs you see today from kids in London
Mount something priory, I'm sure. In Yorkshire. There was a short Stoats one about ones at some particular Hall or other. Previous cat used to love watching that. I had it saved on a recorder for him.
Current cat doesn't really pay any attention to the TV at all much. He did take some interest in the new Stoats programme but quickly got bored and went back to snoring as normal.
