took a trip to Silverdale yesterday there wasn't very much around it was low tide and the ground was baked dry.
I saw a marsh harrier very briefly in the distance and got a record shot.

That name sounds right considering they seemed to be nesting on rock faces and were on a rock 95% of the time I was there. Thanks

I find everywhere very quiet for birds right now but so surprised this lot never took off as I was quite close.

Taken from Lizard Point, Cornwall whilst on holiday couple of weeks ago This Great black - backed gull family were on an outcrop. The fish is too small to be a mackerel

These two Oystercatchers were on the same outcrop as the gulls(above) and about 50 metres from them and lost both chicks..maybe to the several GBB gulls there. It was sad to hear one of the Oytsercatches crying out looking for them. I was told that one of the GBB Gull chicks went missing too, possibly by another GBB gull. It's tough out there.

Out and about today. A sunbathing Whitethroat and a couple of duck families My first thought was Gadwall, but there was a female Gadwall nearby, so I know it wasn’t a Gadwall and this one was slightly bigger. It looks almost like a Tufted Duck in colour, but it was far too big. Any ideas? Edit ... looks like a female Pochard to me after looking it up. (Bottom photo)

Can't help with above ID.As you say, not a Tufted. Bill shape and head shape wrong and eye is black.
