Yesterday evening's moorland walk

An arty Lapwing



Common Snipe was good to see instead of just hearing them



Typical Curlew, putting its self between me and the sun :banghead:



But the highlight of the evening was this Spotted flycatcher

Song Thrush, I think, as it's just a shade bigger than a starling. Regular visitor for the last few days keeping the slugs and snails in check

Not quite today but yesterday, considering they were not long ago in decline, we have literally hundreds.

I'm trying to become a little more adventurous now, and trying birds in flight.
Correct focus settings are a bit hit and miss at the moment, but I'll keep trying.
These are with the Olympus E M1 mark ll and the Olympus 300mm f4 (600mm ff equiv.)

A couple from Anglesey this weekend.

Chough and Sandwich tern were a first for me. The Buzzard was a grab shot, spotted whilst driving down a country lane, very inconsiderate with its choice of perch!

Yes, got chatting to a couple taking shots of the Chough at South Stack and they recommend Cemlyn Bay for the Terns, great spot

This moorhen was paying a little too much attention to a clutch of mallard chicks. It was sat atop a little mound being all menacing. Very low res upload via phone.
