Which "beauties" do you have?

I'm not going to sell it, (at least not until I've run a few films through it) I always use the full picture mode when using APS as if I want to cut a picture down once I've finished developing it, I can do it myself.

I don't mean to say you would sell it. I'm just comparing with my personal "taste" about these cameras :)

You are right, we could use the full format but even using it it is smaller than the 35mm. I'm not looking for great pictures and 100% crops so it would be cool to relax, point and shoot.

I forgot to add to my list the Carl Zeiss Tessar T* 200mm f/3.5.

Remembered that now because I got another one... So I have 2 lol

Oh - do lenses count... I do have another little Pen EE-S, the Rollei SL35E and a very nice little SL400R came yesterday :D

On top of that I have inherited my father's collection of around thirty which is a much better collection than mine and includes 2 x Nikon F, 4 x Mamiya TLR and a Rolleiflex.

Steve.

We allways miss something :p

Lenses count. Without them we have to do pinhole... hehe

With this post I think I can use the Marketplace now lolol

Maybe not yet hehe. I'd like to sell some gear but I have to wait...

Yup - me too. I don't mind the wait though as I appreciate the necessity. Hard though sometimes!

That's cool. I like this policy of waiting for the right time to could sell something. It avoids scam sellers and non trustable people.

Meanwhile I'll be using my gear :D

One local shop is selling the Canon 7 + Canon 50mm f/0.95!!

I'm negotiating it and maybe I can afford it (we'll see...)

That's an amazing lens and I'd love to get a slice of history in my collection!

I took pictures of the Mamiyas today and the Nikkormat FT2 The FT2 could do with a seal kit fitting as the seals are getting a little squidgy, I'm sure I've seen them for sale on ebay though.

They look nice, I still dream of a C3 one day.

Arthur

PS - they sell irons on Ebay too :D

If you are happy cutting it to size yourself, I have some 1mm thick black self adhesive foam.

If you want some, send me your address by P.M.

Steve.

I'm not a collector, but I do have an F2 and an FM, with some lenses. There's nothing else I particularly want. A Leica rangefinder is appealing, but I doubt if I would buy one even if I had the money. For me, it would just be an indulgence.

We all need an indulgence Martyn... :D

Wow there are some film gear junkies hiding in this thread!

Well, these are all (bar the Voigtlanders and the Comets) for sale now in the classified section to help pay for number one daughter's portfolio... let me know if you are interested in any of them and I will post details - but do it in the Classified area!

interesting, I have only 5 cameras and I still think that it's more than I need :))

Pah - same thing. Need, want and get - those are different :D

One of my little beauties. A small camera with a great history, which has the stamp of Zeiss, Rollei and Voigtlander - the 3 german greats ( arguably Voigtlander was a Swiss brand, at least to begin with). The lens is really a Tessar. With a hood that extends in and out - reminder of the CZJ lens. From the early 70s, AFAIK

VF1011.jpg

And the one which started the small camera revolution. An engineering marvel, with one of the greatest lens - a Tessar. The lens folds into the body; something no other camera has achieved since. From the late 60s, AFAIK

rollei352.jpg

And a Japanese beauty; most think its a great little camera with a great Zuiko lens

Oh dear. I have a Nikon 601 and a bag of lenses. Plus an MPP 5 x 4.

The best photographs I ever took were in the 70s and early 80s on an Olympus OM1 that became utterly instinctive to use. The camera I enjoyed almost as much was a Nikon F without a metered head which taught me a good deal about guessing exposure to half a stop.
But the camera that took my most valuable images was my first, a Chinon SLR from Dixons bought my dear old mum that recorded the changing scene and people round where I used to live, an area that no longer exists. Although I took a lot of shots, learnt how to process film and set up a darkroom in my attic bedroom, I should have taken many more. If only we knew how quickly things were changing back then.

Although I've never had gear envy I once worked with a chap who had a shed load of Nikon rangefinders, multiple bodies and every lens they ever made including some real exotica.
That gave me a green twinge.

Great, this is like the 'real' AA :naughty:

My weakness for some reason was 50mm Pentax fit lenses.

I've got:

Pentax SMC-A 50mm f2
Pentax SMC-A 50mm f1.7
Pentax SMC-M 50mm f1.7
Asahi Takuma 55mm f1.8
Zeiss Electric Pancolar 50mm f1.8

:help:

Clearly I was wrong; the chinon was made later. Seems like an interesting camera; shame its a zone focus as well.
