How about voucher towards a training course or a day out to a wildlife park or zoo to indulge in animal photography. I did a photography course at Twycross zoo a couple of years ago
Whatever the MiL overcooks. But at least it saves me cooking & washing up having done it the past 2yrs with them coming to us

My wife and a lot of our friends use the Garmin forerunner 305. I know this model has been superceded, but look for a model which as actual buttons rather than just the bezel to press as I know people have been getting frustrated with those versions
I was surprised how nice the light was at 9am, I think the fact that sun was effectively only just creeping over the top of the trees to the left of the shot helped. I'm with you on the early rises, but then with a 3yo I'm starting to get used to them
This was taken on a frosty morning just before 9am so comfortably outside the so called golden hour. This was taken on the D7100 and has been fairly heavily cropped. All critique & advise on how to improve this will be gratefully welcomed

I don't have that size lens, but I would have thought you should be looking at either Black Rapid or Q-strap sling style strap and attach it to the lens
