Most new laptops or PC's including Toshibas have the utility to create a set of recovery CDs or DVDs... I have just purchased a Tosh 13" lappy and that had the util and created 2 DVDs worth of OS and other junk :) But you also get the option to purchase a copy of these discs from Tosh direct.
See if it still cover by their warranty and then RMA it and get a replacement. Out of interest have you tried WD Tools - free download from their website. WD drives used to carry a 5yr warranty depending on model.
It may have a daft utility that enables you to create your own, also see if it has a recovery partition which most of the recent models come with :) Also see where she bought it from, if from somewhere like PC World then their tech guys carry this CDs to rebuild kit that Joe Public brings in...
Use Google to solve this issue... their are loads of helpful links on line! If I have time in the next few days I will post a few direct links as I too went through this problem months ago :( But now resolved :)
Cheers Anthony... the problem I had was that the boat I was on... a Humber Pilot Launch had to keep a certain distance a head of the fleet so I was forever shooting at the 300mm end and at that range it is very hard to hand hold and even harder to get close to the yachts because of the race...
Cheers Bud! I prefer the normal photos rather than the ones with the PP added by my mate... it is sometimes worth experimenting and sometimes not! No.5 is a crop and is slightly oof but when you are hanging onto a back of a pilot launch doing 24 knots it is not too easy lol!
Thanks for...
