I've become a bit of a "specialist" duffer this year ...
They really are bum shots
I've become a bit of a "specialist" duffer this year ...
its this kind of dedication and perseverance ive come to expect from the members of this forum
Everyone is clearly trying here.
likewise
Great thread - and most of these are better than Ive produced at all when it comes to bird photgraphy.
It got me thinking (but ive had a rest so now i'll continue), would any one within 40 miles of Manchester be willing to teach me a bit about it, cos i'm going seriously wrong somewhere. Have car, willing to travel.
Neil.
I see that your call has already been answered - good teacher there
Tom
But my all time favourite duffer shot has to be my headbanger Wren!
A masterful set .... I felt that we should share our skills with the Animal and Nature forum:

Even better if you posted more of your gems Charlie!
Tom
Sorry, I am so good I only had the one
Looking good so far Charlie Just waiting on some of your Robin shots now
Here's my offering. A faster shutter speed and it might have been a good one.
This is a great thread, makes me feel right at home
LOL Martyn raises the bar yet again!
Hi Neil
I'm from Manchester too, you'd be more than welcome to come along with me and I'll give you some advice and pointers!
Drop me a message if you like!
I oddly quite like this one and couldn't bring myself to delete it
Some of you are not trying ....
Nice cold day, two pairs of gloves, not realising that you had knocked the focus switch from continuous to single, set up on tripod waiting for that elusive shot, suddenly a large female sparrowhawk flies over your shoulder .... focus ... focus ... focus ... bugger
The only PP was a slight crop, no noiseware or sharpening has been applied to this shot.
Just to add I could have posted another blurred Kingfisher diving out of frame shot, but they are easy
Edit: Do you think I should have cloned out the phone line
Cedric you need to try harder .... those are sharp and in focus
Good effort Martyn but if I may say its a bit sloppy leaving that phone line in
I did clone it out .... but to my untrained eye it improved the shot
Looks fun, how about this:
... or this, not a bird of course but... I have several animal-type ones that defy explanation sometimes!
Arthur
best post the Giraffe there.
Tom
Its a Giraffe ... I can put my Collins Bird Guide away then
 Well this one has been foxing me all day Martyn - could find any 4 legged species in the Collins Bird Guide so I am just working on a hunch.........
mind you I havn't discounted that it could be some migrant varianty just blown in. That is of course that this shot was even taken in the UK........
will investigate further........
Course it was in the UK - no sun!
Looking closely, it looks a bit wrinkled and creased ... is one of Frac's new hides
:nono: very low standard Charlie - you got a some in focus and also some sharp detail.
Must try harder
I will try harder. I actually feel a squirrel session coming on for the weekend
Thats amazing right up until you missed the wing off!
If you have 2 subjects, focus on the one in the middle!
