did you like the focal length of the tamron was it just the quality you wernt happy with?
if you like 70-300 get the canon L version, AF is really fast .
I found this to be the hardest of lens to try and chose, I spent ages looking at all the lenses in that focal range and decided on the sigma 17-70 os .
iv just tested my nifty fifty and had mixed results . from 0 to +30 the scale only goes to twenty on the camera. my sigma 17-70 gave more consistant results with a setting of +3 at both ends of the zoom. nice and easy to use but im not sure about the results.
i came from a 450D and i found that the 7D over exposed alot easyer so whatch out for that. as for the button config i found it to be pretty much sorted as it was.
shoot raw then you dont have to worry about picture styles you can change it all with your edit software.
another vote for the sigma from me.
build quality is really good and it focus down to 22cm which is the lenght of the lens zoomed out with the hood on.
Is there any benefit to editing a DNG file over a canon CR2?
I have elements 8. The files sizes are different but they look the same and all the editing options are the same, so whats the difference/benefit?
iv had my 7d for two weeks now. i got the 70-300 L is usm to go with it.
it replaces a 450d and a 70-300 is usm and i have to say the diference in performace between the two set ups very noticeable. focusing is spot on and the usm in the L's so much better. expensive but worth it i think
thanks Tina,
the rudy dartter is the better shot. the coots a baby its ment to by soft!!
it just kept comeing towards me too close for the lens to focus.
I want to upgrade to a 7D and 70-300 L ,
so will i get a better deal if i px in store or sell private?
got no idea what shops offer dont really want to get just £50 off for my stuff.
do the px prices differ from store to store?
