Have you tried more than one memory card? I had this issue on my 450d last week and when looking at the memory card I noticed a tiny bit of the plastic casing had snapped off. Computer reads the card fine but the 450d just says no card. Have ordered a new card to replace it.
What lenses do you currently have? If you're going to be shooting in low light you really need something fast like the Canon 50mm 1.8 (nifty fifty). This should enable you to get some nice shallow depth of field shots in fairly low light.
If you don't have a nifty fifty already I'd advise...
As far as I'm aware if you're shooting RAW, the RAW image will always be saved as colour even if shooting in B&W. If you were shooting jpeg the image in Light Room would be B&W.
Here's another sunset shot I'm quite pleased with, landscape this time. Thought I'd pop it in here rather than a new thread. C&C appreciated as always. One thing, the horizon looks to me as if it slopes down slightly to the right, however when checking against the straighten grid in Aperture 3...
Thanks for the further feedback. Here's another shot of the same scene I took at the same time. Less black land in this one, maybe it's a better shot?
