    Bogged at the Lake

thanks garry - it does get chilly in Oz but not to compare to what I've seen of your winter white outs. I enjoy our mild winters but summer temps between December and March can be unbearably hot. thanks Pickers. I've just bought a new camera (an Oly of course!) so I'll be out and...

    Is this abstract?

Now if you rotate the second image to fix the horizontals and verticals, then crop it a little, you'll have a really nice abstract. :)

    Dancing City

You did well at 1600 with ambient light there, Garry. In most instances I prefer natural lighting over flash that kills atmosphere. Elegant pose and I have to agree that the background dude is a distraction, although under the circumstances that should be accepted.

    Red Bellied Black Snake

I spotted this lovely animal sunning itself at the base of a big River Red Gum and was able to get within less than 2 metres. Handheld E-3 + 12-60mm (=24-120mm) + in-camera-body IS (to neutralize quivering :gag:) @ 1/640 @ f/8.0 @ -0.7 EV @ iso320

    42lb Carp

Photographically, these are magnificently impressive pictures and specimens .... however .... Some 30 years ago some idiot smuggled a few pairs of breeding carp into our rivers and lakes which had a devastating effect on our indigenous species. Carp populatins exploded all over the country...

Saved by an Olympus OM2n and a Nikon F4s

Pamela, the Bride's mother showed me the sights of Chicago and bought me a cap! Post-wedding - The bride and self in the backyard of her parent's home - I liked her hair better cut short!

Saved by an Olympus OM2n and a Nikon F4s

From my archives, a US wedding from 2005 shot on film and digitized. The assignment resulted from an enquiry by the bride's mother who had seen my work online. Unlike Australian wedding photography most American weddings are shot almost entirely indoors. I had never been to the USA and the...
