These are natural light, not flash. Sometimes I do use flash but going thru a 'natural light' stage. I just have to accept high ISOs sometimes

Great image. The 100-400mm is a cracking lens for the larger dragons.

Lovely shots of the golden-ringed. Is my favourite dragon, but there arent any local sites - often travelling to the New Forest to see them. But always worth the 2 hour drive. Great to see a keeled that isnt on the ground!

Demoiselles from Bushy Park. Always a challenge, but they will often only fly a short distance once disturbed. So it is possible to get a few goes at getting a good shot. I havent see beautiful demoiselles in the main park (as they prefer fast running water, whilst banded demoiselles prefer...

I prefer the first image. The 2nd just looks very flat - with none of the depth of the 1st one

Have started to play around with long exposures and wondering why the built in exposure time is limited to a maximum of 30 seconds. Would be good not to have to rely on bulb mode and a remote. Anyone know the answer? And if any camera allows for longer exposures? Stephen

Thanks for this info, can always rely on TP people. Just reading these posts make me eager to get there. And interesting to see Garve mentioned as that is the nearest village to where we are staying. Fingers crossed for some photogenic weather.

See one, sometimes two, from time to time in Bushy Park. Very hard to get close to, even with 400mm lens. So well done for these images. Prefer #2 purely because I am not a big fan of images where the subject is flying away from the photographer.
