Have you given up on film due to Film prices ?

I still shoot and dev at home but it's mainly black and white... Fortunately, I have an Epson V600 for scanning so unless I've got something special, I don't really have much in the way of print costs. I have at least 15 films cameras here but I tend to reach for the same few. It's too...

    Best Airshow

RIAT takes a bit of planning but it's worth the effort... Be prepared for an early start and late finish. The last one I went to, I was at the front of the queue to get onto the airfield and then had a mad dash to get a spot right on the flight line - it was worth it though. Some of my favourite...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

I can't speak to the Olympus but I do have the Panasonic 100-400 on my E-M1X and I'm really happy with it. I got mine from MPB for a good price so it's definitely worth looking on their site. :)

Perfect micro four-thirds weather today... It made a nice change to shoot at low ISOs with very little in the way of noise reduction in post. :)

Thanks Jeff. Fortunately, it's only a 20 minute drive from my house... It used to be a regular haunt for photos but I stopped shooting anything requiring a long lens for quite a few years. That last shot of yours is stunning by the way. Perfectly timed! :)

Bwlch Nant-yr-arian was very nice and Christmassy yesterday... Autofocus in the snow was a challenge but I came away from the visit with a few good images. :)

I was supposed to be heading up to Abergele from Aberystwyth this morning... Thankfully, I decided not to bother. ;)

Something slightly different this time... Shot at the wider end of the Panasonic 100-400mm. The land on the horizon in this shot is the Llyn Peninsula. I like the way the picture arranges itself into lots of layers. The starlings didn't put on much of a display and stayed very close to the...

Back to Bwlch Nant-yr-arian again this afternoon... The light was awful but I'm definitely getting more tuned in to the camera now. ;)

Very much enjoying using the E-M1X and the Panasonic 100-400mm... Although I had reservations about the smaller sensor, having Topaz DeNoise AI has negated most of the worries I had. :)

    Close up lens recommendation please

Hi Jonathan, The DCR 250 works well on standard lenses... My daughter has mine semi-permanently attached to her 14-42 on her E-M10 MKI The DCR 150 is a bit weak though. I agree that a dedicated macro lens is the better option if the OP can afford it. :)

    Close up lens recommendation please

Another option is the Raynox DCR close focus lens. It either clips on to the front of your existing lens or you can can screw it on with step-up/step-down rings. They're not expensive and work really well. :)

I took the E-M1X for a wander around Bwlch Nant-yr-arian yesterday afternoon with my daughters... It was bitterly cold so we didn't hang around for long but it gave me an opportunity to give the camera a good outing. The first heron picture was shot at 1/40th by accident - proof if any were...

Hi Alan, That's one of my favourites as well... They put the trees on the pier a few years ago. I'm not quite sure why but they're certainly unusual and they make a nice backdrop. :)

Hi Alby, It has been a while hasn't it? ;) I remember it well... I haven't been back since although I've visited Skomer on a few occasions. I think Andy should organise another trip back there. Not quite moved all the way to micro four-thirds... I'm still firmly in the Fuji camp but it's a...
