    Furious!

I have a 80-200mm AF-S lens and mine squeaks too - since I bought it 5 years ago. It does it for the first 4 or 5 times you AF if its not been used for a bit or if its been somewhere cold & damp (like a couriers depot or van overnight?). Maybe put if somewhere with some of those little packets...

    Boston - USA

We went to Boston in April this year, stopped there for about the same amount of time as your going for. We went on one of the Trolley bus tours, which takes you round all the big sights and also entitled us to a free harbour cruise tour - I think we used "Old Town Trolley Tours". After...

    Flashgun problem with nikon d2hs

I have a Jessops 360AFD flashgun that I bought for off camera flash use when they were £39 - I have tested the on camera with my D3 and D300 and they fire fine. However I would not recommend them for on camera use as the TTL metering of the flash is very poor, whereas the SB800 and SB900 spot on...

    tiny lightstand

I have three of the Calumet umbrella adapters (these ones: http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/item/MF6830/ ) which I bought from calumet's ebay store for about £15 each. As far as I'm aware they are identical to the Manfrotto ones (bar the calumet logo ;) ). I have been using them for a year and have...

Paris here I come....... What Lens?

I visited Paris in August and my most used lens on the trip was the Nikon 18-200mm, but the Sigma 10-20mm did come in very useful for some of the shots I took, you can see all of them on Flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomupton/sets/72157607519295818/

    Nikon 80-200 f2.8 AF-S advice

I also have a D300 and 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-S, fantastic lens! I've had a look at the images of the chimney and the photo at 200mm f/2.8 really doesn't look right - the images from f/4 to f/5 are more like what I would expect to get at f/2.8 on my lens. It's also strange that it looks ok at 80mm...

    Sigma lens help please

Yes it will work, but you will have to make sure you purchase the version with the focusing motor, otherwise you will have to manual focus. Here is a list of all of Sigma's lenses compatible with the D40, D40x and D60: http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/quicklinks/HSM_lenses.htm

    Stupid Question!

Shouldn't be a problem, seen as its a Canon fit. From the Sigma site: DG (DG Lens) "These are large-aperture lenses with wide angles and short minimum focusing distances. With an abundance of peripheral illumination, they are ideal lenses for Digital SLR Cameras whilst retaining...

    10-20 vs 580ex mkII

Looks like you already decided on the lens, which is a great choice. I bought one at Focus on Imaging last month, it's fantastic. I really like the view at 10mm and it produces some interesting results, especially with the distortion. I even got a sharp copy :D

    Manfrotto which head

Gibbo, you can get the 055XPROB and 804RC2 from Camera King for £149.95 + £7.95 delivery. This is where I got my 055PROB (older non-X model) and 804RC2 from. I'd defiantly recommend both the legs and head, a sturdy and not too heavy combination. Easy enough to carry in the "MBAG80P" bag...

Advice on Memory card for Nikon D100

You will find that the D100 doesn't write very fast, so there is no point in purchasing a fast card. I have found that there is no noticeable difference in write speed between my 2GB Integral i-Pro 100x card's and my Sandisk Extreme IV 4GB card (does make a big difference in the d300 though!)...
