    Downgrade Dslr to micro 4/3?

I'm using a D90 at the moment and have been looking for a smaller lighter camera recently. One option I thought about was the Nikon 1 J2 with the FT-1 mount. The reason behind that thought was that with the optional F-mount you can use existing Nikkor AF-S lenses. It's a bit pricey...

    Back Garden Sunset

Thanks Fullfast, that's answered my 'lack of ap and sp' and limited aperture concerns. I did tell myself its a P&S but part of me wanted the usual PASM like the SX240HS I fell into the 'what if I need them' trap. As all reviews rate the Sony highly for its features and from the samples I've...

    Back Garden Sunset

Nice low light shots there and good sharp images in photostream. How are you finding not having aperture and shutter priority modes on the HX20V? Do you regret not having them or would you still buy this again if you had a second chance?

    Win 7

Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate does come with XP Mode which lets you run older apps on Windows 7 using a virtual xp session running in the background... That might run your old games.

    Boot Sector Virus !!

Do the messages come up each time you switch the PC on? Might be helpful to take a photo of the messages and to see when during the boot process that they appear and what version of windows you are using. As far as I know, the newer versions of Windows no longer depend on config.sys.

    Taking your own passport photos

I tried doing the same last year for family and they were very similar in colour, lighting and sizing to the ones they show in the information booklet. Unfortunately they came back to me requesting another set, so gave up trying and went to two different places - Jacobs and a booth just as an...

    HDMI & DVI-D

If your PC monitor has built in speakers, HDMI will carry your video and audio at the same time if your video card has HDMI out. DVI only carries the video signals if you are using external speakers anyway.

    Dads Birdbox

Are they just plain USB extension cables you're trying? You might need to get USB Repeater Cables which can extend USB. I was looking to do something similar last year but kept getting conflicting information from different companies as to whether the repeater cables could maintain USB 2.0...

Stop Your External Hard Drive Going To Sleep

Have you tried looking at Advanced Settings under Power Options. You can customise your Power Plan so you can decide when Hard Disks turn off and when USB suspends?

    Android Update Grrrrrrrr!!

Have you checked your Belkin DHCP client list to see if your Wildfire has been assigned an IP address or are you able to manually set an IP address, DNS and gateway on your phone? The good thing about Amazon is their returns policy, never had a problem with them, and official firmware upgrades...

The 'single' most important photographic advice you were ever given?

Ah sounds like Maverick from Top Gun "I'll fire when I'm goddamn good and ready." :) The advice I thought was most important to me was to shoot in Manual Mode... It certainly did open my eyes to what the camera tries to do and what I want it to do!

    Android Update Grrrrrrrr!!

A lot of Android forums do suggest a full backup and reset of the phone after doing the 2.2 update. No problems with my Belkin before and after update but I did do a full reset afterwards so couldn't say what it was like if I didn't do so. Do you use MAC address filtering on your router's wifi...

Converting DVD ROM to normal DVD

I'm not clear too on what you mean about converting dvd rom to dvd as they can be seen to be the same. However on the other hand, have a google search/read for "DVD Book Type". Some DVD writers and/or software will allow you to change the "booktype" of your finalised disc so that a dvd+r or...
