ANY RUGBY PHOTOGRAPERS OUT THERE

"her" was at Warrington yesterday, she didnt like it when the guys from PA and Actions Images came over for a chat, she was desperate to know what we'd been talking about

Bet ya were talking about who was going first and who was sloppy seconds.

:exit:

There are certain images you don't want to have in your mind when you're having your dinner.... :puke:

Was at the Ireland v Italy game last weekend. Can't show photos on this site but have them hosted on my own. At a British & Irish Cup fixture this weekend between Munster A and Nottingham.

Thanks. It just needs a little tidying up and then I'll be happy.

Hi All Fellow Rugby Tog's,

I've started shooting for Newbridge RFC every weekend and really enjoy it.

Only thing is I sometimes feel I need to shoot more close-up action photos.

I currently use a nikon 80-200mm F2.8, do I:

1) Buy a AF teleconverter TC-14E (1.4x)
2) Buy a 300mm F4
3) Forget the other options and save for months/yrs for a 300mm F2.8

I'm currently thinking about going with the 1.4x converter and lose a stop.

What are your thoughts??

Thanks
Lonster

Hi Debrito, first of all it is down to your buddget for a start.
I use a 70-300mm IS & 100-400mm IS for the rugby and even
use a 28-135 mm IS on the touch line when the other lens are to tight.

Hi Lonster, same again its down to what you have to spend both the
300mm F4 & 300mm F2.8 would be ideal for the job. I know someone that bought a converter as quick way to a bigger zoom at good price then started savibg for a 300mm 2.8. http://www.picasaweb.google.com/fspdoncasterrugby

Just seen your new post. See you there then.

Yeah i'm looking forward to the game. Added bonus of getting some images in the press. Fingers crossed.

It's OK Len....I'm coming down now! Emailed Scorpions this morning. You can drool over the mkIII and 400L IS now!

As for the other lens. I'm either going down the cheap route and using my dodgy Sigma 28-105 lens pegged at the 105 length, or the more expensive route and renting a 135L from Stewart @ Lensesforhire...
