the long awaited d300 replacement just announced.
Any specs yet ? googled but can't find any
Touchscreen, around 10FPS and up to 200 continuous in RAW - The perfect airshow camera!
Also the first camera to use the new Snap Bridge connection with Smart devices (Use it with your phone or tablet in other words)
Sorry I didn't manage to catch it as conference was on while I was in the shower! I think a touch screen that flips out like d750.
Thanks folks, looks interesting.
same processor and af as d5, 10fps and 200 raw buffer no mention I've seen of MP count.
Sweet. Now where's the d9/8/7xx
Voted cold. Not D400.
It will be interesting to see how they price it.
Specs here @ Nikon USA
'KINELL, a week after I buy the D7200
Not before time though & it looks pretty decent tbh.
The specs look stunning.. just waiting for the d750/800 replacement that similarly speced.. d750 sensor and this body would be enough.
Goes on sale in March -price in USA is $1,995.00, so if that translates to £ on current exchange rate that's about £1,350.00
I see the battery grip takes different batteries to the camera. Interesting.
That won't be the case. expect it to be about the same price in pounds.
This is the camera I wanted in 2014 to replace my D300s. Damn Nikon you clever, as I got a FX camera instead
Cue an influx of 7200's for sale in the classifieds...
No built in flash...
You just read my mind. Just got my d7200 about a month ago and haven't even sold my d7000 to fund that yet!
Looks good :-~)
Nikon USA states that it has.
As I'm not an expert on these things, would it be expected that even a top line DX sensor like this would be more noisy than for example an FX sensor like the d810 at higher ISO?

Looking at the pictures of it it doesn't
Yes i noticed that too.
Looks good spec and seems long overdue. The spec seems its a big leap over the D300s, better than the small improvements in the D7xxx series. Looks like they may have taken a leaf out of Canon updates of the 7D range.
Hopefully this will drop the used prices of the D300s and the D7xxx range as I want to get back to a Nikon DX body but this new one will be well out of my price range.
Looks like in body 3 axis VR too
That's so they can sell you a SB-5000 Speedlight.

$2000 or that will be £2000 in the UK thankyou. That will be another D750 then I think.
Where does it say that?
Quite possibly, but not everyone wants FX, i know i don't (been there, tried it, went back to DX), but as the native ISO is now up to 51200 (over the 25600 of the D7200) i suspect it will be the best DX sensor in terms of high ISO capablility
In the section titled Advanced Video Features

When capturing 1080p Full HD content, the camera also has a new 3-axis electronic VR feature that can be activated regardless of the lens being used.
Kewl.... now I'll be able to pick up a cheap D400
