No one needs 40" in the bedroom...

Samsung Curve QLED

On a side note, none of my 3rd party batteries work in my D500. I've not tried them in the grip (usually a workaround) but definitely don't work in-body.

D500 is very touchy with batteries, newer 3rd party 'chipped' for the D500 should work fine but standard batteries won't work.

My LPS owner told me the same thing when I bought my D750, I just happened to mention spare batteries and he went on a tangent about D500 being touchy with batteries.

What's LPS? Local Photography Store?

I've had my D500s for a while now and I am still very impressed with this camera. The speed and handling are phenomenal and I love the IQ, especially for a DX.

Nice set. I like the Escort shot, shame about the blue 'blob' over the front of the car. What were you shooting though to get this overall effect?

The crowd standing against the railings, I couldn't find a space so I shot through them instead.

How do you retain focus on the car, manual pre-focus?

Yep, shot through a gap in the crowd in AF-S and then flicked it into manual. I tried with AF and lock-on set to 5 but it didn't work very well as some of the brighter coloured coats seemed to interfere.

I was on holiday last week, and was taking many pictures. What I normally do is fill one card, let it overflow to the next card, and the replace both cards when they are full. Always backing up each card to my laptop too each night so I have two copies of the images.

On this trip, because I had two 32GB cards in the D500, the first card filled, and then it started filling the second as usual. Now the odd thing, twice it put another pic on the first card which it had previously said was full. So two of my sequentially numbered images were on the first card. If I tried to review the images, I may not have found them, because I was looking at the wrong card. If I look at the image in filename order in the folder on the computer, as I normally do, two images will be in the wrong place in the time sequence, which is normally the same as the file name order. :-/ I've never seen anything like this before, twice the camera saying a card is full, and then writing new images to the card.

I don't think the raw files are one size - the size probably depend on the content of the image you have taken (some compression). I wonder if the card didn't have quite enough space left for a larger Raw, but one of the i mages came along that was slightly smaller due to its content and fitted on the first card?

This was my first thought too (y)

I'm at work atm, so can't give exactly how it happened, but the first card said it was full, took a load more pics on the second card, and it then put one on the first card, took some more pics, and it put another on the first card. I understand images are different file sizes dependent on content, but to get it wrong twice.

Something to keep in mind if you regularly use two cards and can't find an image you know you took. ;)

That doesn't sound right at all ... surely if it can't fit one large RAW file then it won't be able to fit two smaller ones because, unless you changed format midstream to make them significantly smaller in size, there simply wouldn't be room for the two!

I have had this happen too, several times now. I think that the camera doesn't completely fill the cards, maybe to avoid the risk of corruption maybe, I don't know why. When turning the camera off and back on or when switching banks it defaults back to the primary card and on occasion I have been able to fire off a shot or two on the "full" card before it swaps over to the secondary.

I have also had the situation where the primary card is full and it takes a couple of seconds after changing banks for the cards to switch over and I've missed a shot as the camera won't fire in the meantime.

So the camera filled the first card, took another 141 pics to the second card, put another pic on the first card, then took another 540 pics and then put another on the first card. The first pic was 20.6MB, and the second was 20.7MB. so there was at least 41.3MB of space when the camera said the first card was full. I'd rather it didn't do this, but looks like there is no choice. Weird that I have never noticed it happen with my previous camera.
