Seems to be a lot of Kingfisher posts at the moment so I thought I would add one of mine.
One from a series of Kingfisher in flight shots that I took earlier this year.

Quite amazing. Talk about timing. What gear did you use for this shot?

Woah, nicely caught mate (y)

What settings did you use for this?

Simply fantastic, love it - you must have the reflexes of a superman to catch this.

Excellent action, clarity, sharpness, detail etc etc .

Can I be boring and ask for a bit of background as to how you got this shot?.

Rob

I do wonder where you chaps get your Kingfishers sometimes ???

Looks like a flash was used here too ???

Local to me we do indeed have Kingfishers, and I know the branch they like to sit on too - but even manufacturing an equivalent to about 530mm on a 12mp sensor, the damn things are so far away to fill the frame would be a crop down to just 5000px - which ain't worth the hassle of bothering

I guess we just don't have sociable birds round here (but that's another story my single m8s report!)

Fab shot, great timing, if I could moan a smidge... the back looks a little blown, but perhaps you can pull that back in processing?

 x 10 whatever

Great timing for this shot(y), now where's the one with it coming out of the water with the fish;)

Excellent, well done

Shot at 40mm according to the EXIF....so flashed and remotely fired is my guess!!

Nice shot :)

Thats pretty damned good

40mm focal length! was it under your nose or something!

Flippin 'eck mate, that shots a stunner.
40mm focal length:eek: is it a pet or something.
And......just to rub it in, the sharpness in camera was set to soft.

Seriously though, that shot is one of the finest i have seen to date, you should be well pleased with that one.

are you sure the horizons straight:LOL:

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Cheers for posting
Dean:)

Stunning shot there did you use a flash if so does it not scare the bird or are they ok with it (y)

Simply, why?

Why 40mm on a protected species? Assuming flash.

Don`t make it right.
