Ok, I bought this camera because of image quality, full frame goodness and ISO performance. This weekend it got its first real-life test, in a sports hall, shooting a karate tournament and frankly my ghast is somewhat flabbered. Yes, I knew it would be good, I knew it would out-perform the D300, but I wasn't as prepared as I thought I might be for the extent to which it did this, and bear in mind the D300 is no shrinking violet in the higher iso stakes. For the first time ever, I was able to shoot at F4 [instead of f2.8, always an advantage with moving objects], iso 3200 and 1/200 [1/160 @ iso 1600 was as far as I could push previously] and I am just amazed at the images I have got. Will post some shots over next day or two when time permits, but I finally feel like I have what I want and need in terms of bodies [D300 for length, D700 for breadth] and I am one step closer to the kit to to do what I really want to do
