Nikon D750 & D780

Just got a 50mm, sooo much lighter than the 24-120. Played about in the garden and it showed that the 24-120 needed focus tuning. Gave dot tune a go and much better on +9. Will have a think about swapping the zoom for an 85mm I think

I've decided to replace my 24-85mm with the 24-120mm. Anyone have one to offer?

Just got mine from Panamoz, cheaper than used and with a 3 year warranty. If you want UK there's £115 cashback on the 24-120mm at the mo.

Is the AF on the 85mm f1.8G fast enough/reactive enough to take sports such as running events or cycling events? Thought it might make a nice lightweight alternative to the 70-200mm.

This thread is 90% inane but strangely engrossing. Am I turning into one of you? Do I need a screen protector to qualify?

Here's a snap from my D750's first proper outing :)
The light wasn't terribly kind to us - i.e. we didn't get up early enough - but had fun anyway :)

I agree about this thread Simon, and I don't even have a D750 :D
I blame the boy @minnnt for tagging me a post on here in the dim and distant past.

Lovely job with your shot above, I like the natural light as you've positioned the couple in open shade.

Thanks Snerkler, even with the cashback the UK doesn't come close to the grey prices! I've found it cheaper with OneStop Digital. I've bought off them in the past (only once) and everything went smoothly. Just waiting for a reply to an email verifying something and will prob go for it. Has anyone else used OneStop Digital recently?

Don't blame me, I'm not even that active in here these days.

Great shot Simon, much different to most of the stuff that gets posted in here.

Toby, the 85 is ok with regards to focus. It ain't no 24-70 but i would have thought if it can focus on a rally car at 120mph then it should be fine with a cyclist.

Thanks for this, didn't realise that you'd used the 85mm for some of your rally pics (or maybe I did and my wonderful memory strikes again )

It was used on a D7k at the WRC. Most of my favourite shots from the event were from that combo.

Camera has been dropped off at Lehmanns this morning. Very friendly and reiterated the estimate of £90 (which seems too good to be true imo!) although liable to change. I'm expecting it to be up to £200 tbh.

Also, whilst out last night we heard a big thump in the car. Woke up to find the windscreen has a crack in it. Not having much luck atm. FML.

We're currently in Stoke and it is like a ghost city!

Have a great day boys and girls.

Not good, fingers crossed your luck changes (y)

Posted off my D750 to Nikon today for the HSS recall issue. Will update when it's back. (Bought a little P&S to tide me over.)

Will be interested to know the turnaround time. What P&S did you go for?

What is it with cars? My brakes started to bind last night, garage says £500. That'll be the wife's birthday screwed..

Buy her some new brakes - problem solved!

I remember being told that i needed new pads and discs on a megane 225 trophy and it was gonna be 500 notes... Quickly sold it.
I did the same when my old Evo VIII needed discs and pads all round. Was a great car, but not so good if it didn't stop when I wanted it to.

Damn, all that bad luck and you're in Stoke too! That is bad luck! ;)

Nice, brings back memories of some of the older Pocket Rocket cars I owned. Going back nearly thirty years now, some of the cars I owned. Lancia Delta Integrale, Reanult 5 Gordini and Turbo, Fiat Uno Turbo and the Suzuki Swift GTi............. Also owned 280 Brooklands Capri, Escort RS1600i, a very rare car now. And some classics like a Rover P6, Spitfire, TR7, Mk2 Cortina Gt and 1600E.

I bet some of the above cars must be worth a few quid now. Never thought of myself as a petrol head at the time, but looking back I must have been.

No replies in 3 hours? Where is everyone?
24 hours later and shipment still in transit from Hong Kong:(

I'm getting disillusioned processing my rugby images (not the Six Nations!)
And to prove the point....
