Do we have a uk price yet?
But 9mp is too small surely, 16-24mp would have been better.I think with finally having a small RAW option ( to me Nikon's biggest mistake was leaving this out of the D800) it may be a more tempting option to D700 users who skipped on the D800.

Add VAT to that £1950 = £2340, so a £360 difference.seems we get shafted on price again. US price is $3299(£1950) Nice £750 difference.

Then you would probably shoot JPeg anywayI suppose it depends what you want them for - web use …… quick transmission etc., i.e. for electronic media
You're right there!
Is there any logical reason why Nikon can't do the same as Canon and have a small, med, and large RAW size? That would make the D800 series so much more versatile IMO.

I shot pitchside and transmitted direct to National papers, was thinking you were more meaning for like that and paparazzi stuffdo you reckon? - I always shoot RAW which gives greater flexibility in PP - even for web posting at 72 dpi and files less than 250k
And bear in mind, that historically, uk prices drop sharply in the months following launch, us ones don't

Hmm, still not seeing anything that makes me want to upgrade from the D700. I'll wait this one out and see what comes next.
Looks to me like a very handy upgrade of what is an already excellent camera
Question for Nikonites that I can't find a specific answer to: will the D810 shoot 15mp Raws in DX format at 7fps with battery grip? If so, then it will truly be two cameras in one.
Like most others, I see no real need to go exchanging my D800E for this. There's a few nice upgrades, particularly the one stop in ISO performance, and the improvements for shooting using Live view. But nothing that makes me want to jump on it any time soon.
I will safely bet these improvements;I wonder what they will do to "improve" the D4S?
but if you do not have a D800E is the D810 worth waiting for?
