Over 70's to be asked to self-isolate - how will you pursue your hobby?

This is one Chinese Take away - we could all do without:mad:

Somerset ( as of today) only has 2 cases, however: I'll be avoiding public places as and where I can

Well I've just tried out the new garden shredder ... how do I go about starting a panic on mulching materials?

Quicker than burial or cremation...

Reminds me of a sign on a farm gate near my Grandparents' house when I was a kid - "Well Rotted Manure 2/6 per bag. Do It Yourself, 2/-".

My church has just taken the decision to close, at least for the next month, then assess the situation. As being in the over 70's group I had intended watching the sermon online, not sure what's happening about that now, must drop an email to the pastor and tell him to put on his best TV face :)

Found a good alternative to football and horse racing , I can even Remember having a go at it years ago .. just stumbled across it .. it’s called pornhub .. quite a titillating website :pint::lock::lock::lock:

The guy called today to read the gas meter, he didn't knock just put a card through the letterbox with instructions to place it in the window, guess they have a no contact policy, it would make sense.

Don't think I've had a meter reader here since I moved in 9 years ago, didn't think I was that scary :D

When I went to pay for some fuel at the local supermarket filling station yesterday the chap behind the counter told me to scan my own reward card (presumably to reduce the risk of contact with objects other people had touched) I'm sure I could see him wince slightly when I produced £50 in cash to pay for it... and he took it off me between finger and thumb! Honestly, if you're that bothered why not just wear some disposable PVC gloves and change them at regular intervals?

it so confusing, advice being given to the over 70's and high risk groups to avoid social contact ect etc..

Fine I'm not over 70, but mid 50's with two autoimmune disease one being T1 diabetes... So high risk group, but I work in nursing care am I supposed to return to work after the annual leave I'm on or not!

I'm not over 70 (49) but in the high risk group due to Type 1 diabetes. I've already started following the social distancing guidance. Practically though, this isn't self isolation and certainly isn't self confinement. I can't avoid my close family, wife and kids but we are changing our behaviours in line with guidance.

It is all about risk reduction. I'm really fortunate in so much that I can work from home on full pay with little disruption other than the social contact. In terms of getting out with the camera, I can't think of anything less problematical than a long hike and a bit of landscape. You rarely see anyone anyway.

Stay safe people and good luck.

They are asking a lot for the over 70s, my Mum is 88 and lives on her own where as I`m 59 and well come on the high risk. But I`m damned if I`m going to stop going to help Mum if she really needs help as she only has me, so I have a lot of thinking to do as I could just walk to her`s and back and not see anyone.

I self-isolated by driving to the Sussex coast and photographing Cuckmere Haven and Birling gap yesterday.
Wind was a bit fresh but it was a beautiful day and I got some nice shots.

{I'm 73 and I have to take penicillin daily due to having my spleen removed a few years ago. Not sure if this qualifies me as "High Risk."]
