This camera looks well impressive. I previously owned a Panasonic lx3 and enjoyed using it, may look into another compact camera at some point in the future

Excellent captures there phil love the b&w out of my lx3, looks like the 7 doesn't disappoint either in that dept

Cheers.

If you're willing to forego manual control it also has a dynamic monochrome effect filter which looks even better!

Yeah I recall the dynamic setting being superb. The lx7 looks to be an excellent landscape camera. On digitalrev now about to bite the bullet lol

It is, dynamic range is only a bit over 11ev but the auto bracketing is so good I don't mind.

The RAW files hold so much info at lower ISOs for a small sensor, I normally only opt for the DSLR now when I require dexterity...

I'm a bit worried about mine. I decided to get it repaired in the UK because I have greater faith in British service than Spanish. It arrived in the UK 5 days ago, and still hasn't been delivered....

Good to see you're enjoying initial tests Duncan.

Just a tip: the sharpness when stopped down a bit from f1.4 is shocking!! 1.4 is ok for when you need it but it does make things quite a bit softer than the pin sharpness I like from this camera.

cheers phil i quite liked the blurry look here i just snapped it as i was walking past the camera does a great job im really pleased think this will be a keeper :)

Working with the artistic filters is really enjoyable on the LX7, and very reassuring since the RAW is saved as well! For those that don't know, push the thumb dial in to change the settings (contrast, brightness, amount of filter etc)

Some Dynamic Monochromes:

All SOOC and steadied with the nearest post!

The filters seem to always use iA for exposure judgement and I have no complaints whatsoever with that.

Some great photos in this thread, really tempted to get one now from DigitalRev unless anywhere is cheaper?
Only thing im a bit concerned about is the 10MP sensor, just seems quite small. Also, I know the colours from Fuji (in the X100) are incredible without any editing at all, especially when taking photos of sunset or long exposures at night for example, does the LX7 compare?

Regarding 10mp: I have a A1 canvas that is very detailed in my bedroom.

I'm not a huge fan of the amount of customisation for jpgs on the LX7, there are only 2 steps up and down for saturation, sharpness etc.

I'm not sure weather I like the jpgs or both actually since I always edit from RAW.

Take a look over the thread and see the sooc shots.

Just had a look back through the thread, before I just had a brief scroll through to have a look at the photos. But yeah, it does look like a great camera, the fact the lens is f1.4 at the wide end is tempting me despite the fact its not as sharp (as Phil pointed out!). Also a big fan of the dynamic monochrome photos Phil posted on the last page too, although not the HDR!
Was it this one Ricardo? http://www.flickr.com/photos/ricardodaforce/8641229418/
Im a big fan of that, on my DSLR long exposures with water/lights dont really come out very well; the water isnt smooth enough or the lights are too blown out. I had a look at the other photos on your Flickr with the LX7 too, very impressed.
Really tempted to buy one now!

Thanks, and yes that's the one I had in mind. (y)

My LX7 has been repaired, I will have it back next week. I've missed the little devil!
