Queens birthday flypast June 12th 2010

Do you know the route/course that it is taking.

In the old days it always flew over us near Ongar. Variously Lightnings or Phantom F4s escorting Concorde.

Post the question in the Transport forum. The aviation togs there are likely to know.

His post will be deleted if it does not contain images, as it is likely to be here, or moved.

Talking of which I am sure I read or heard somewhere that Concorde may be brought back to life soon, has anyone else heard such rumours?

If they can do it for the Vulcan i'm sure Concord will fly again yes take her out of service BUT they should have kept one flying for displays....

The aircraft assemble over the North Sea, near Southwold, then head towards Ipswich, A good spot to see them here is at the Tesco roundabout. The formation then follows the approximate route of the A12. i think the journey from Ipswich to central london takes about 12 mins.

This is what a nice guy sent me from an aviation website!

I have checked the RAF website and the plane elements are as follows:
Element 1: BBMF (Lancaster + Spitfire + Hurricane)
Element 2: 2 Eurofighter Typhoons + 2 Tornado F3's
Element 3: 2 VC10's
Element 4: Lockheed Tristar + 2 Tornado GR4's
Element 5: Sentinel R1 + 2 Hawker Siddely 125's
Element 6: Nimrod R1 + 2 Tornado GR4's
Element 7: E-3D Sentry + 2 Tornado GR4's
Element 8: Red Arrows
From the listings looks like it's gonna be a good one so i'll be going, hope this helps.

The BBMF will join the flypast at Fairlop Waters at 12.00 (look on Google maps is easist). There is loads of free parking if you fancy the drive. Also I doubt if both VC10's make it. They are to due to fly over Chelmsford at 11.56 or Kelvenden Hatch at 11.58. Lets hope the weather picks up.

I am a sea cadet and took part in the flypast. There were 150 cadets in a Tristar jet (in celebration for the 150th anniversary of cadets) and we had red arrows behind us/ jets in front. Was an amazing experience flying alongside the RAF jets and will never forget it. Will upload videos and photos of the cockpit/ flying alongside the jets and London ASAP.

It was really good at Fairlop with the bonus of filming all the wildlife.
Now I just have to work out how to show my pics!
