heres what I came up with- Sigma 105mm Macro- f11 @ 1/125th sec

No not at all its a Marumi from Amazon, cost me £128

yes the drip was suspended from a twig quite high up a tree :shrug:

Ahh, I asked because I have started experimenting with flash and fairly quickly realized that the background is an important consideration. I liked the blue background you had and wondered how you did it..Now I know! Thanks

No worries Martin, I might add that if the aperture is too small the BG becomes BLACK

The ring effect can be pretty annoying but in most cases can be photoshopped out.

Both shots are corkers but I would hang no.2 on my wall, if I had taken it. Very nice.
